The opposite of more...

Hello Folks ~ Here we are into the first of April. Here at Plum Cottage it is on the upper side of warm and the a.c. is on. Skies are partly cloudy, and we've had a few sprinkles. It really is a gorgeous day with a stiff breeze from the west and I'm thankful for this blessing of another day of life.

Quote for each and every day, "the opposite of more, is enough." I recently read or heard this quote and I don't remember where but it really struck a chord with me. It is so easy to get caught up in wanting more, more of this or that, instead of being content with the 'enough' that we already have. It came to me the other day when I was thinking about what to eat and what if I run out.

In the Lord's prayer it says, 'give us this day our daily bread', that daily bread is 'enough'. We are not to worry but fight fear with faith. I am not immune to attacks of fear and anxiety, it is something I pray about daily. The evil one wants to crush our faith, to see us cower in fear. Standing in faith in God, we are strong. He gives us His peace.

If I should die from this virus, I will be instantly with Jesus, no more fears, sickness, no more sin, all will be well. A beautiful translation of scripture found in Psalm 62:6-8 for living each day is this:

For he alone is my safe place.

His wrap-around presence always protects me

as my champion defender.

There’s no risk of failure with God!

So why would I let worry paralyze me,

even when troubles multiply around me?

God’s glory is all around me!

His wrap-around presence is all I need,

for the Lord is my Savior, my hero,

and my life-giving strength.

The phrase that really touches my heart is this ~ 'wrap-around presence'. We are talking about Jesus, who is God in the flesh, the Creator of the universe, who loves us so much He gave His perfect life for our sinful life, to save us from everlasting hell. He wraps His loving presence around us in every circumstance of our lives. He cares deeply about every thing, little or big that we go through. He never promised that bad things wouldn't happen, but He has promised that He will be with us 'through' it all, good and bad. May we learn and grow through this rough time in history.

This world wide situation is one that calls us to draw close or closer to God. We all need a Savior and he paid the price once and for all so that we can live forever with Him in glorious wonderfulness now and forever.

Below are some blessings of beauty from the past couple of days including this morning.  No descriptions again as there are so many pics.

Ok, that's it for now. My right fingers are cramping up from so much time spent on editing pics and writing up this post. No more pics to share anyway. Also time for lunch.

Love, hugs and prayers for all ~ FlowerLady

Raindrops on roses, so beautiful, I hope at this time we can let nature wrap its hands round us with colours, perfumes, and if not in reality at our home, your photos are a delight to enjoy again and again.XXXXX

A wonderful uplifting post, Lorraine. May our walk with our God and Saviour get closer and closer and may we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Blessings!

Dear friend, what a comforting post! I was sitting in my veggie garden yesterday after a second round of hoeing and weeding in the afternoon. Sitting in the metal chair and just looking out over the landscape, and I thought what you said above - give me today, Lord, my daily bread. Give me today. Don't think about tomorrow or next month or next year. That's not my business. That's his business. I need only trust him for TODAY. And it is certainly enough! Now I need to go read Psalm 62!!

Everything looks so pretty, Rainey. You really have your own little piece of paradise. Wonderful, comforting words, too. Please send me some of that warm weather, it's still winter coat weather here!

Hugs
Jane

Wonderful, comforting words for me. I feel the same way, should I contract the virus and die, to be in the presence of our Lord.

Thank you, Lorraine, for this beautiful, faith-building post! Yes, "He alone is my safe place." And "for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

Everything around you in the garden is a sign of God. Enjoy those
lovely flowers and good health. Palm Sunday soon and then Easter,
both joyous occasions to celebrate Jesus and salvation.

Hello Lorraine! As always, you are so attuned to God. How many times, now, have your words moved me to tears, because they're exactly what I've needed to hear in that very moment? I seriously need to pick up my Bible. I've spent the last week plagued by fear, although like you, getting sick by this virus and dying from it doesn't concern me as much. It's all the other problems that are arising from this, that have brought me down. But we've had sunshine these past two days and it sure makes a difference. The white bougainvillea, if I've identified it correctly, is utterly gorgeous. We have it in pink and my mom calls it Veranera...It may be rhododendron, now I think of it...
Such a lovely post, I hope you enjoyed your lunch! Thanks again and God bless you!

That is a great proverb, or whatever you want to call it. It reminds me of what Mary Poppins said in the movie, "Enough is as good as a feast." And also of several scripture verses. Your attitude seems to be what would naturally flow from someone who stays close to God and knows that His love is a feast. Thank you for the blessing, Flower Lady Lorraine <3

Hello Lorraine - beautiful flowers and a beautiful post. We are going to get through this together because God is in control. Stay safe and well, my friend. I will see you again soon!

That's a beautiful collection of flowers, Lorraine. I adore the Hibiscus in the second photo, a plant I've been tempted to try in my own garden. Although we're both in zone 10 (some rate my area as 11a now!), we're much drier than you are in Florida I expect. Best wishes.

Wonderful words of hope, Rainey! I am very glad you are doing well. The garden has been my refuge and what a blessing to be able to escape there and find peace. Sending love to you, dear friend!

Wonderful to read your post this Lord's Day and to be reminded of His love and concern for us. To know that He supplies every need we have today, and He will do so tomorrow, and the next day and the next. He is ever faithful. Yes, "Enough" is the opposite of "More". I love that! And, as always, I love your gorgeous flowers. Oh, how they lift my soul! Thank you, my friend. Hugs, Nancy
