The opposite of more...

Hello Folks ~ Here we are into the first of April. Here at Plum Cottage it is on the upper side of warm and the a.c. is on. Skies are partly cloudy, and we've had a few sprinkles. It really is a gorgeous day with a stiff breeze from the west and I'm thankful for this blessing of another day of life.

Quote for each and every day, "the opposite of more, is enough." I recently read or heard this quote and I don't remember where but it really struck a chord with me. It is so easy to get caught up in wanting more, more of this or that, instead of being content with the 'enough' that we already have. It came to me the other day when I was thinking about what to eat and what if I run out.

In the Lord's prayer it says, 'give us this day our daily bread', that daily bread is 'enough'. We are not to worry but fight fear with faith. I am not immune to attacks of fear and anxiety, it is something I pray about daily. The evil one wants to crush our faith, to see us cower in fear. Standing in faith in God, we are strong. He gives us His peace.

If I should die from this virus, I will be instantly with Jesus, no more fears, sickness, no more sin, all will be well. A beautiful translation of scripture found in Psalm 62:6-8 for living each day is this:

For he alone is my safe place.

His wrap-around presence always protects me

as my champion defender.

There’s no risk of failure with God!

So why would I let worry paralyze me,

even when troubles multiply around me?

God’s glory is all around me!

His wrap-around presence is all I need,

for the Lord is my Savior, my hero,

and my life-giving strength.

The phrase that really touches my heart is this ~ 'wrap-around presence'. We are talking about Jesus, who is God in the flesh, the Creator of the universe, who loves us so much He gave His perfect life for our sinful life, to save us from everlasting hell. He wraps His loving presence around us in every circumstance of our lives. He cares deeply about every thing, little or big that we go through. He never promised that bad things wouldn't happen, but He has promised that He will be with us 'through' it all, good and bad. May we learn and grow through this rough time in history.

This world wide situation is one that calls us to draw close or closer to God. We all need a Savior and he paid the price once and for all so that we can live forever with Him in glorious wonderfulness now and forever.

Below are some blessings of beauty from the past couple of days including this morning.  No descriptions again as there are so many pics.

Ok, that's it for now. My right fingers are cramping up from so much time spent on editing pics and writing up this post. No more pics to share anyway. Also time for lunch.

Thank You

I want to say thank you to all of you for your kind, encouraging and uplifting comments today. They have been a blessing all day long.

Some of you told your own stories that touch my heart. We all go through different happenings in our lives and hopefully we grow through them into better people. We were not promised a perfect life.

I received a wonderful reminder of truth today that touched both DH and myself. It is so easy to forget truths when you are under fire.

Here is the wonderful verse sent from Sherry.

***

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;

but of power,

and of love,

and of a sound mind.

2Ti 1:7

***

I just found the following quote and will close with this.

Wishing you all a good night or good day wherever you are.

***

"Life is huge!

Rejoice about the sun, moon, flowers, and sky.

Rejoice about the food you have to eat.

Rejoice about the body that houses your spirit.

Rejoice about the fact that you can be

a positive force in the world around you.

Rejoice about the love that is around you.

If you want to be happy
,
commit to making your life one of rejoicing."
