Latest happenings

Good afternoon Friends,

Thank you again for all of your love, prayers, support, emails and gifts. Words cannot convey my thanks, but know that it’s from my heart.

I had a wonderful massage yesterday morning. The young lady was very good and has a tender heart and a love of doing this. I slept about 8 hours last night, which is my normal usually. She and I talked while she massaged and I cried too. It was good for me.

This morning I picked up DH’s cremains and that was rough going for a bit. When I got home I decided to just keep puttering around here as it doesn’t do me any good to sit and fret or feel sorry for myself. I know DH is with God and that is cause for celebration. Tomorrow is DH’s 65th birthday and I plan to have a bday dinner, a margarita to start, chicken with lemon caper sauce, mashed potatoes and carrots fixed somehow or other.

Monday I got a lovely anthurium plant from DH’s two sisters and husbands.

Oxalis ~ I know many consider this a weed, but whenever I see it I smile.

I made a little stoop yesterday.

Painted it today and also attached those acorn decorations front and back that we found awhile ago. I think I’m going to paint the window trim the terra cotta color too.

The back.

Funky or what?

Re-laid the sidewalk stones. We had taken them up to run electricity underground to the caravan.

May the coming week be filled with lots of love, joy, peace.

Have a lovely Christmas and a wonderful 2013.

I'm SO glad you had the massage. I used to get them about monthly when I was working.

You KNOW how much I love seeing pictures of the "project"! I'm so proud of you, Lorraine.

I hold you in my thoughts and prayers.

Lorraine, you are keeping so busy, amid loneliness and sadness. Your haven looks lovely, love the steps, and the door. Yes, words from us out here help so much, and I know you know how much we all care. Greetings from Jean

It sounds like you are finding a way through this--a day at a time. Balancing physical activity with the more contemplative, reflective hours has to be healthy.
No easy or quick route through pain or loss--memories are a funny thing: one triggers another and we find ourselves smiling or crying.
I'm glad you had the massage session--such therapy by a compassionate practitioner is healing.

Lorraine, your funky, yes funky, color scheme is so you. I know the labor involved in laying pavers. Good job! Your steps to the caravan are just right ~ stable and pretty. May you continue to make your world beautiful.

How lovely to receive a blooming plant. I’ve always loved those. Unfortunately I don’t have your green thumb. It doesn’t stop the love of their sleek leaves and stunning blossom. Some how, some way you must budget in a monthly massage. To your continued journey!

Love the camper, the stoop and the decorations and I think once you paint the windows the same color, it will look even more pretty :)

You're such an inspiration, in my ways :)

Much love to you sweet friend,

Amazing work on the caravan, you are so talented! I'm glad the massage was healing, that's wonderful, along with the eight full hours of blessed sleep. You need your rest most of all. The plant is very pretty, too.

It may be funky, but I love it! The new stoop looks good too.

I especially like the picture of the sun on the trees.

I do admire how you are keeping on and doing the things you and he loved.

Love the caravan...what a special place for you to create... all the while knowing how hard you both worked on it. It will bring special memories I'm sure.
Enjoy your birthday dinner. I always looked forward to reading about your wonderful dinners that you and he shared. You were so dear to him...to create a menu for all your special occasions.
and now.....I'm going to talk to you like a mother. Those paving stones look so heavy. Please be careful so you don't get hurt.
Blessings for the holiday season.

Hi Lorraine,
This is the first I had heard of your sad news- I've been out of blog-land for awhile. I am so so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. I cannot imagine what that is like, but you so clearly have an immense inner strength that most people could only wish to have. I'm sending you love and peace this holiday season.

I am so happy to hear you had a good sleep - what a lovely gift from your friends the massage was.
Laughter and sleep are the two things that help healing, help you get through the day.
I love the door deco, and I think your plans for the windows are just right - good to see you are puttering away.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy the massage, and get some tears out. It's good that you were able to do more work on the caravan.
