Music transcends

It is 3:07 a.m. E.S. time. Couldn’t sleep. Wrote some thoughts in my other blog:   The Continuing Journey then decided to post some music.

As I was dismantling the lounge bed in the bedroom, I needed some music. Music was always a big part of DH’s and my life together.

This first one is called Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. I wasn’t thinking of any particular song when I pulled out this CD, but when this one started playing it was like a gift to me.

I felt guilty, for dancing around singing at a time like this, but I couldn’t help it. DH always encouraged me to sing and dance, to let it out.

There is joy in my heart knowing that he is with God right this very minute, in another place, while God is right here with me in this place also.

One With You by Carolos Santana

Love of My Life ~ Carlos Santana

I’ll close this post with these thoughts.

How does one put the spiritual significance of music on paper?
Music transcends all languages and barriers and
is the most beautiful communicative skill one can have.
Music makes us all experience different emotions.
Different types of music,
whether it is vocal or instrumental,
Eastern or Western,
Classical or Pop or folk
from any part of the world
can all be spiritual if it has the power
to stir the soul of a person
and transcend time for the moment.

Good Morning, my dearest FL.
I have been up since 4am this morning, can't sleep. D is out on a trip, and I just woke up and had to get up.
My thoughts are with you. I wish I was closer, as I feel so very helpless.
I will talk to you later.

I heard this morning that Ravi Shankar died yesterday. Thought of it when I read his quote.
As my husband and I have traveled the long road of autism with our precious son we have found the lyrics and music of Fernando Ortega to always be comforting.
I praise God that you are able, by His Spirit, to dance during your time of mourning. Indeed, death has lost its sting when we know our loved ones leave this life and go directly into the presence of God!
Love you~

That first group, Bob Marley, I've always loved their music, but didn't know who they were. I think you would have to dance listening to them. I'm glad you are able to let yourself feel whatever you feel. There are no shoulds.

I THINK I heard that Ravi Shankar just died, too! He was over 90 years old.

I love Three Little Birds....and I'm so glad you could dance a bit.

I'm SURE your DH would have loved it to be so. And yes, music DOES stir the soul and transcend time. I've experienced it :)

With you in thought and prayers, Lorraine.

Hi Flowerlady...I often sing Bob Marley's song to myself when I find myself starting to worry about something. It works every time. Hugs to you!

Any chore is best done to music. I don’t know about you but for me it makes a great companion. James Taylor and I can clean up a storm in no time.

Dear FL,don't feel any guilt; I see your listening to the music you shared and dancing to it as a living tribute to him and the life you shared. May you keep it up always.

The quilt is going to be beautiful.

I know the gardens are bringing you some happiness now and very glad you got the needed moisture.

Never feel guilt for dancing. You must live on earth and one day you and DH will be dancing together again...
