Easy peasy face mask

Good morning from Plum Cottage ~ It is a sunshiny day, big blue sky, hardly any breeze and not too bad out temperature and humidity-wise.

Had a great time 'zooming' with family yesterday. Lots of laughter, which is good medicine for all of us.

This morning I decided to make a couple of face masks as I want to go to the grocery store myself this week.

Found a super easy peasy mask to make out of a T-shirt. No sewing.

Here are two pics of me this morning with 'bed-head' and tired looking, masks in place. They were so easy it's unbelievable and hardly took any time at all. The only thing I changed is making the ties to tie around my head, instead of behind my ears. I do have one of those stiff twisties from the grocery and think I'll quick sew-on, a short piece for over the nose, to bend and keep it in place, if you know what I mean.

May you all be safe and well.

You did a great job making your masks. I have been making them for over a month for Hubby and others. I finished my last batch last week and I hope I don't have to make anymore. I want this to be over with. Keep safe.

I love this. I have made a whole bunch of face masks - like almost 100. Have given most away to others. I am going to make a few more this week to donate to the Navajo Nation, then call it quits. I am "masked out." Glad you could make these. Looks like an easy DIY way to be safe. :-)

good job on the masks. There are so many ideas out there for making quick no sew masks.

Lovely photos, and you can use pipe cleaners instead of twisties, or the garden wire that is thin, just bend the ends so they don't shred the fabric. I wore one when I went for a walk the other day, dangled under my chin in case I met anyone. The one lady, she crossed the street one way, I crossed the other, we were so far apart. Stay safe.XXX

A mask is a must now. Glad you are venturing out, but as safely as
possible. My masks are like yours, simple and with rubberbands for
around the ears. I just unfold and put directly in the washer when I get
home from the store. Only going every 2 weeks or so.

Hi lovely lady!! I love your masks. Glad you are wearing them. So many aren't. Which is sad. I stay home but I make hubby wear one when and if he has to go out. You take care!! Love you, Kit

I admit, despite Taiwan's proof of the effectiveness of wearing a mask (430 infected, country-wide, no self-isolations/lockdowns/shutdowns, and only 6 fatalities!!!), my western brain is reluctant to don these things...Thank you for sharing this idea, Lorraine. My dad can sew and this looks pretty simple. I love the twisties used around the nose. The first two photos are of the Miss Joachim's, I think? They are quite stunning! I love the amount of birdwatching I've had--and I live in the city. They're quite wonderful. The comment you made about how nature gets right on through with life, this seems to be my lesson this 2020. The natural world could be our greatest teacher, if we would just listen and do as they do. Just be. So thankful for today. God bless you!

I wonder what recipes you cooked up with your supplies... I bet you are a good cook!

I have been doing a lot of squirreling-away-in-the-freezer of this and that. Then when I come downstairs for breakfast I often throw two or three of the containers in a pan and have my quick meal, always different. :-)
