Latest journal :-)

Good morning everyone ~ Hope you had pleasant weekends and that the coming week will be good.

Yesterday morning I had plans to get a sheet of paneling, but had said to God “if it’s ok with you”. Well, obviously it wasn’t, because a little while later I stumped my toe next to big toe on left foot, and it hurt like heck, swelled a little then turned a shade of purple. I laughed right out loud and said, alright, this is my answer, stay home. So I did.  I put an essential oil blend called Pan-away on the toe, and in a little bit the major pain was gone, but I couldn’t really bend it.  I’m happy to report that my toe feels pretty good this morning, and is bendable.  I can’t tell you how many times in my life that I have stumped those toes right next to my big toes.  They are a bit longer and that could be why. Someone recently told me that Pisces are always stumping their toes, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it is with this particular Pisces.

I did a little weeding in my St. Francis garden hobbling and stepping lightly, then hand watered things.  Later I got the idea to make some ribbon roses with the ribbon sent to me by Nicki, of Ravioli Dreams. Lovely ribbon and nice to work with, thank you Nicki.

I looked at you tube videos yesterday, and oh my goodness, I am such a novice and have much to learn.

These are what are called ‘spider web’ roses. Relatively easy and so much fun to make.

After making the three roses, one thing led to another and it eventually became another little journal. I don’t know how many hours I worked on this, but it was sheer delight I can tell you that.  This one will be going to the widow’s meeting this morning, Friends Needing Friends, as I want to donate it for the raffle they have every month.

I used a piece of antique lace that I had in my stash, as a border around the piece.

That’s it for now.  I’ve got to eat breakfast and get ready to head off to meet my new friends.  This is my third meeting with a bunch of lovely widow ladies.

Have a lovely day ~ FlowerLady

Enjoy your day, dearest friend. I will get to you sometime this week with an email.
I will be sending you a box of something soon also.
I usually do not stub my toe, but I do step on things, like nails, which I did yesterday. Its so sore, and yes I have had my shots.
Hugs to you my friend.

A lovely journal cover, and your work space says so much of your love for stitching, the beautiful creations you have made, I like the way they sit together, like good friends, hands linked. Hope your toe is so much better, that was surely a very definite message to stay put for at least one day. Fond greetings, Jean.

Your widow gathering sounds like it is very therapeutic. I bet it helps to have people who understand all the little things that come with being a widow. Things the rest of us, even though we care and feel tremendous compassion for you, don't really get.

I'm sorry about your toe. I'm a Sagittarius and stub my toes a lot. I think it's more about people who don't wear shoes are more likely to stub them. :)

I love your embroidery. What a sweet gesture. Take care dear friend.

The journal is a thing of beauty.

I have stubbed my toe and the whole area around my toes turned blackish purple! How nice that you had some 'sit down' work to do.

Hope you have a lovely time with the ladies, Lorraine. I love the prayer journal. You did a fabulous job with it. Someone will cherish it.

Sorry about your toe. Hope nothing is broken!!!!

What do you use for bug bites? Since we both work in the yard, I figured you had a great remedy... I have some kind of no-see-em itch mite bites in several places on me --and can't get relief from my usual sources, banana peels, vinegar, hydocortisone, etc... Any ideas for me? They keep me up at nights...

Hugs,
Betsy

I trust you'll have a wonderful outing Lorraine!
I just adore your craft, my fingers are too stiff.
Your poor toe! I will have to tell my daughter to watch out, she's a Pisces with a slightly longer middle toe!

I love your journal, the cover itself as well as the roses. Why are they called spider web roses?

My goodness you have a lot going on; looks like you are making quite a few journals.
