Spiders and a Lizard

DH found these spiders this morning. I’m not crazy about spiders, but they eat bugs, that means less mosquitoes for us.

They are fascinating even if they are creepy.

DH held up a piece of wood, painted on one side, non-painted on the other to see him from the opposite side without being distracted by my car that was sitting in the driveway. The spider was on the edge in the bushes.

In this picture, you can see where the webbing comes out of his/her body.

This guy was sitting right outside my window here while I was editing pictures. His orange throat going in and out is what caught my attention. I had to wait there for a bit until he realized I wasn’t a threat on the other side of the window and puff out his throat again.

I’ve got more pictures from today and yesterday, but it’s time to start dinner and have a glass of wine. I think dinner will be paella from the freezer, reheated. Easy-peasy.

Have a nice evening ~ FlowerLady

Scott (dh) says the Spider is a "Banana Spider" and our lizards have fushia pink throats here in SC.

That's a sexy spider. Ha!
Great photos. Kind make me cringe too but so good for the garden.

I think the pic of the spinneret on the underside of the spider is so cool. Enjoy the paella!

I don't believe I've ever seen such a beautiful spider!

It is a beautiful spider. I really like it's color scheme. The four legged guy looks like a lot of fun. I wouldn't be scared of him but it would startle me when I would run across him.

They are both beauties. Even your critters look exotic.

Is the little spider in the order the male? She reminds me of the Writing Spiders that I've started seeing here this month. The male is a much smaller spider that hangs out at the edge of the web ~ from what I've read, as I've never actually seen or noticed a male WS.

Your lizard reminds me of our Green Anoles. Last summer we had one that entertained us by displaying his running abilities and throat puffing on the porch railing. We could see him from the living room.
