Today’s blooms

Good evening Friends ~ Thank you for your encouragement.  I woke up feeling positive this morning.  Took some pictures, washed and hung out a load of laundry, went to the library, (free reading material), made a loaf of garlic/herb bread in the bread machine this afternoon, and made a large pan of a sort of paella for supper tonight. Which was yummy and we have plenty to enjoy for a few more meals.

We had a little rain again this afternoon and it is partly cloudy and sunny with a bit of breeze right now.

I worked some on my next embroidery piece.  Drew in the flower stems and even started embroidering after I took the picture. Hurray. The flowers will be: wand flowers, wild garlic, bugle lily, Guernsey lily and Rose grass.  These flowers are all from the book ‘Embroidery from the Garden’ by Diana Lampe.  I got two of her books for Christmas and they are such an inspiration. The other book is, ‘Embroidery for all Seasons’.

Here are the pictures taken this morning.

Two pictures below are of the rose Borderer. A little sweetie.

Here we have a fallen Frangipani bloom, resting on rosemary nestled in ferns and various assorted growing things, like Virginia creeper. Smile

La Marne ~ another sweet little rose.  I need to take a cutting or two of her to root so I can add her around the property.

I’m not sure which rose this is.  Either Bon Silene or Old Blush.

More of my favorite passion flower vine. This one is just opening.

Then we have fallen blooms of the Sea Hibiscus tree.

I need to get up to wash dishes, have two baskets of clean laundry to fold and put away also.  Maybe I’ll get to it all tonight.

I got an interesting book at the library this morning.  The Garden of Reading ~ An Anthology of Twentieth-Century Short Fiction About Gardens and Gardeners, edited by Michele Slung.

Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow, whatever you do, wherever you are. I will close with the following.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Hi Flowerlady...So sorry to hear about the loss of your job, but I am a true believer that the Lord works in mysterious ways and that he has something perfect in mind for you. The colors of all your beautiful flowers look so vibrant and stunning. It looks as though your garden is thriving in the heat and humidity of summer. Keep the faith!

I agree, Keep the faith; that's all we have. The library offers a calm to me. I like going there to. I am asked "to be still". It's amazing to me the names you know of all that you bloom. I just call them "flowers" and "stuff I like" and hopefully that will work for folks. Debi

You have such a lovely outlook on life. Things will work out the way they are supposed to, Mama always said. You have some marvelous skills, too. That filet crochet in the previous post is wonderful. I've seen pieces like that matted and framed for a pretty price.

I have been missing in action for a day and didn't know about your work. I am so sorry, but I do believe that all things work out for the best eventually.

For now, just enjoy that extra time you can have to devote to your many interests.

My sis made me a Welcome piece from filet crochet and had it framed for me. I treasure it.

The flowers pictures are gorgeous as always!

FlowerLady,
What a lovely rose is that 'Borderer'. And all the blooms in today's post are a reminder of how God tends to every minor detail when we trust Him. I so appreciate your positive attitude in the face of adversity. I'm 'believing' with you that all will be well for you and your boss. These are sad times but your joy is sure and certain!

Gotta smile seeing those passion flowers opening up into remarkable artistry by the Master!

Have a blessed day.

What a display of awesome blooms. Love the hibuscus - it is so different - the colors - just love it. Passion vine is so interesting. I hope to add this one to my gardens next year. Oh and that salmon colored bougainvillia is so pretty. Mine are beginning their 3rd cycle of blooms this year. I never realized they had so many blooming cycles.

So many beautiful blooms! Thank you for drawing my attention to Borderer, I never took a liking to it until I saw your pictures. That passion flower is amazing, I think I need to get the vine :) I have never heard of a sea hibiscus tree, it has very interesting flowers, I need to check it out. Your garden looks lovely.
