My win in a give–away

A few minutes ago a sweet pkg. came in the mail. I won a give – away that Skeeter had on the blog, In The Garden.  She and fellow blogger and gardener Tina, both post on this blog. One lives in TN the other in GA and it is always a treat to see what is going on in their gardens.

I forgot all about having entered this give – away, so it was a pleasant surprise to have one.  I loved the first prize, there were two prizes, and hoped I would get it and I did!  Skeeter’s sweet cat Cheetah decided she was going to pull the names out of the hat.  You can read and see the photos here.

Look at the pretty packaging tape.

And look inside the box, oh how pretty and spring looking.

This is my sweet prize. My eyes are filling with tears as I write, it’s been a rough couple of days. I have blue eyes and DH brown, so this was really a cool feature of this piece. They look happy.  She has a flower up next to her eye, and his hand is on her shoulder.

Look at this lovely bag that the prize and some other sweet little gifts were in. A spool of garden tie material, with a little cutter blade on it, really something handy to have.  Pretty little gripper garden gloves, watering sticks for indoor plants, a nice butterfly stake and a little dragonfly suncatcher. Then look at that tree frog.  What a hoot!  You can help but smile when you see him.

Thank you Skeeter and I wish you another lovely 5 years of blogging.

As I said above, it’s been a rough couple of days.  Today the tears started flowing in Home Depot.  It was one of our favorite places to shop for materials for projects. It’s not the same now that he’s gone, not the same at all.  I can handle the garden dept. but being in the building materials, etc. just tears me up. Yesterday morning I woke up all weepy and that was the start of an emotional day. Every day is different.

Last week was my second meeting with a wonderful bunch of widow ladies, the group is called Friends Needing Friends. We met at a new location, at a golf club and had a wonderful buffet afterwards. Since I am a new widow, under 6 months, I received a sweet little teddy bear, for a little comfort in my sorrow.  I put him with my sweet other bears, he is the yellow one holding the little pillow I’ve had sitting with these guys.  They happily made room for the newest member to their family.

Every day there is something, even if it’s just something tiny, that we can give thanks for.  It may not be easy to do, but it does make one feel better doing so.

With that I will close.  I may take a little break from posting, as I’m really feeling drained and just need to take things slow and easy.  Thank you all for your love and continued support.  You and your comments mean a lot to me.

Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

Lorraine, you so deserve every lovely gift, love the froggies together. A rest, yes, let the world go by for a wee while, let tears come, find a quiet haven, grief is overwhelming at times, and lately your words to me have comforted so very much, I hope mine to you do too.fondest greetings from Jean ( friendship knows no limits in time or distance)

The best thing you can do right now is to realize when you need to step back. This is a very difficult journey you are on and there is no need to push yourself in those areas that can wait.Being drained is normal, grieving takes a lot of energy.
Hugs and prayers.

Your beautiful win, and package brought tears to my eyes (brown and blue).
Take your break dear girl, we will all be here on your return.
You will be missed but time-out from blog world seems a good thing for now.

It is snowing here this morning. Sleeted all night. Where is spring? Spring is on your blog. That adorable frog couple got to me, too. I totally understand teary days--they will continue to come and go. I found myself teary about my mom a week ago--and she's been gone 23 years. I call it love leaking out of my eyes. And the good thing--I'm pretty full of love. You are, too. Praying for you--and I will be here when you return, too. (And with more time to read my favorite blogs once summer comes!)

Lorraine - I love the frogs. I have a similar set in my yard. Frogs can make you smile. Home Depot was my husband's favorite place to go. It was hard going back there after he died. I can so relate. Take it easy. All your friends love you I can tell by the comments here. Barbara

Hi Lorraine, I'm glad you won the drawing. I'm sorry you are having a hard time, but don't be hard on yourself for it. It's good you are in that group.

If you take a break from posting, I hope you do some here and there.

Oh my heart goes out to you...I have not lost my mom or husband yet...but chances are i will...If only we could accept 'what is" and not grieve for what could have been....or has been...if only we could stay in the moment and and be blessed by it....I guess we will never know how it feels till it happens to us..we are not separate but just a miniscule part of Gods universe......
