Good afternoon Folks ~ I am thinking about my clothesline, and looking at a replacement for a cheapie is $40, and a couple more are $90 and up. I do have in my ‘stash’ of ‘junk’ stuff, at least a couple (I think) of the old T type clothesline posts, with cement attached to the bottom, and I think I’m going to go that route, I’ll just have the clothesline in a different area of the property, not there by the caravan or little shed where the washer is. I’ll have to walk a little further to hang out the laundry, but that will be good exercise. I need to check this all out more, but I think this is the way I am going to go. I know how to dig holes, and can do so. 
I think I’m going to go with this line ~ Everbilt 1/4 in. x 100 ft. All-Purpose Clothesline in White says ~ All-Purpose Clothesline is premium quality, flexible, easy to handle and knots well. It is acid, mildew, rot, oil, gas and sunlight resistant. ~ That sounds good to me. It’s $9.98.
Since I already have those T posts, I thought of going this way instead of the whirly gig lines. I have hung out our laundry for years and enjoy doing it and love how it smells after being air dried. Very comforting and homey. Now I’m excited. Is that weird or what? Excited over a clothesline. I’ll keep you posted. I’ve got hand dollies to move the posts with. I’ll just go slow and thank God for His many blessings, large and small.
Simple things in life make me feel content and happy.

Good for you! I'd hate to live somewhere that didn't allow clotheslines! I'd have no trouble with my things drying today; the wind is terrible, and cold!
Nothing beats the smell of laundry that has been on the line outside. Having said that,I have not hung mine out for many years.Guess I'm getting lazy.
I have a T clothesline, Hugh put tighteners at one end, it has 4 lines, perfect for sheets, and towels. Just a thought, you know the Fiskars saw you bought recently, Hugh has one similar, and says you cut with it as it is pulled backwards to your body!!! Not sawing with a to and fro motion like other saws. Hope this might help with that outside work. Fond greetings, Jean.
Even though the lines already have concrete on them, I think you need to pour more on it and let it set up for several days. You would need to get Quikrette (is that how you spell it).

No, you're not weird! I was excited about getting an electrical outlet installed in our kitchen island! It made my day. My week! My month, actually :)
I haven't put laundry on a clothesline in years but I love the smell of laundry thats been hanging outside, especially sheets.

I think the $9.98 one is perfect too, plus, it is affordable ( cheap ) enough that you can replace it if it doesn't last as long as it should.
I remember the scent of laundry drying on the clothesline and love it. We have too much rain, mist, fog, etc. for it to be a practical option here. :(

It's pleasure from the simple things in life that we must never lose. I like hanging out laundry, and so does Amanda, but she drives me mad with how she must do it. All the socks in pairs, and everything in colour order....including the pegs! Sheesh!
I love my t-post clothesline. We bought the posts at a garage sale when we lived at The Osage House. In the flurry of moving to The Ponca House, they got left behind. Oh! I was so upset! A year or two later we ran into our old neighbor and I happened to mention how much I missed my clotheslines and the neighbor said the new owners had dug the posts up and they were put out on the driveway for the garbage men to take, but they didn't take them. He went back, loaded them up in his truck and brought them to me!!! Can you believe that? A little blessing from God, I figured, the way that all worked out. When we moved here, I made sure we brought my clothesline posts, although Hubs and DS just rolled their eyes. Oh, and you can get clothesline wire at Lowe's. It lasts 'way longer than the rope-type clothesline and doesn't sag.
Please listen to Sallysmom about using more quickrete to set the posts. You sure don't want one to fall on you!
I just have a small retractable one and can't use it for sheets. I need to find a space somewhere for a 'real' clothesline. Our problem was too many trees but now that we have removed so many space may have opened up.

How remarkable that your post was about clotheslines! I have just this day finished installing a pull-out type between the hardwood posts under the roof of my back veranda!
