Good afternoon Folks ~ It’s been a busy two days for me. I look forward to going to work tomorrow to sit behind the desk and relax.
Yesterday morning I moved concrete blocks and other flotsum from beside the Gypsy shed. Then I mowed, trimmed some low branches from our neighbor’s property that were hanging in our driveway. I trimmed and weeded some back by my potting area. I couldn’t even get in there lately because of so much overgrowth. Plus that crazy pit bull behind us has intimidated me from staying away from my own space. Yesterday he didn’t even come back there and froth like he usually does and that was a relief. That work all took about 4 1/2 hours. DH did caulking and other wood work on the shed so that I could paint today.
I got a crockpot of Navy beans, with onion, celery, garlic, thyme, marjoram and smoked chicken sausage going before I headed outside to paint this morning. It sure is smelling really good right now. I’m going to add some kale to the pot before long.
The north and east sides of the shed were painted this morning. After lunch the south and west sides were painted. Oh yea, I also painted the hinges and latch on the picket fence with the plum color. I just love how this is turning out. I enjoy painting. DH is thinking about how to finish off the bottom edge. Plus he has the whole inside to finish off and a front door to make.
What a difference cooler weather makes. We can do so much more outside and don’t feel drained and sick, like our summer heat and humidity make us feel.
Here are the pictures.
I didn’t finish the top part because DH has some trimming up to do there that we forgot about.
You can see the red rose in the above picture, it is Chrysler Imperial and that scent was wonderful as I was working back there. Here it is below almost reaching it’s end.
This vine is all through the hedge on the other side of this area and has been blooming steadily for months now. The scent is so sweet and the blooms fabulous.
The next four pics are of the blooms from my rooted cutting of Homere. I can hardly wait for this plant to get older and give me larger blooms. These are a delight though even small as they are now.
These morning glories would take over the property if I let it.
That’s it for now. It’s time to relax and unwind with a glass of Chardonnay before dinner.
Tonight is Survivor again, so it will be a popcorn-date night.
Enjoy the rest of your week and be thankful for your many blessings.

Lorraine, you are working so hard I hope you are not overdoing it. I like those plum hinges on the white gates though.
Take care,
shirley
We love Survivor, too, and get the bonus of a baseball game before hand. Looks like I won't be doing much except keeping keeping the couch company!! The fence turned out awesome. You put in so much work. What a clever shed. You two are really good at making things work.
You know, I've never seen Survivor. What a great thought, you and yours have a set time where you sit together and watch!
Your fence is becoming a work of art! One of those climbing roses would look awesome on it...
Don't lug around too much concrete! Not good for the back, ya know!
Lady you 've been working so hard and the resutles are beautiful. The cottage is adorable.
I can smell all that cooking too
Your hard work is paying off, everything looks lovely and your blooms are beautiful.

Your fence and gyspy camper are looking great. It is a wonderful time of the year to get some gardening/outside projects complete.
I have been intending to make a fence to, so some animals wont enter. We can't use wood or bamboo as we have lots of termites in our property. I love your finished project and the paint's color is lovely too. Yes Flowerlady, we have some common conditions in our garden, but definitely yours is much nicer because you get more days of cold temps and they are much lower too. Here during summer it is hot and very hot, and during the wet season is wet and very wet. haha! I see in most SE Florida blogs that plants are more vigorous than ours, or maybe that's only because we don't fertilize ours!
It is looking great! You sure got a lot accomplished in those 4.5 hours. I don't hold up that long these days.
I had a discussion about cooking crockpot beans with my daughter the other day. Could you give me some tips please?
Take it easy for a while; you have earned it.
Oh, your little getaway is turning out so Beautifully! I am so in awe of this project, and love the plum paint. I'm glad you were able to work in peace without the hassle of the nasty dog. You sure did get a lot of work done! I could use your ambition right about now.
I bet your supper was delicious, I always feel so cozy when I come in from outside to the aroma of good things bubbling in the crockpot.
How wonderful your finished fencing looks all painted up. I love that you added some plum paint to the hardware. The Gypsy wagon is looking great too. I think it looks so cute in this area of your garden. Have a wonderful week.
Everything looks wonderful.
Also, I can the aroma of what is
in the crockpot has drifted miles.
You gave me an idea.
That is what I will cook for the
weekend.
In love with your Gypsy Wagon.
Love the idea of a crockpot of navy beans... if only I would think of these things in the morning. :) Your photos are, once again, outstanding. That rose is so sweet and the passion flower...wowzers! I'm glad you can get some gardening time in again now that the weather has cooled. I hope the neighbors will think to keep their dog inside.
Your fence looks great and the gypsy wagon too. That whole area is coming together so well. I love seeing the progress. Isn't this weather glorious? Enjoy!
Oh, the play house! Everybody should have a Gypsy Cart in which to play or some other fanciful project. The change in the weather is wonderful so you can work in comfort.
Your little recycled house is so fun. I would love to have a find like that to make a special place to be. I need to clean out my garden shed again and work on that. Great roses.
