It is hard to believe it is July already. The older I get the faster time seems to be going.
It wasn't too bad out earlier, so right after breakfast I went out and mowed, 8-8:30, and I was becoming soaked but I decided to do a tad weeding and trimming. Kids across the street started letting of firecrackers and that took the joy out of what I was doing so I quit for the day.
It looked like rain and there was thunder in the distance but it all went around us. I have to hand water to keep things surviving. I'm allowed two days to use the sprinklers. I don't water grass, or driveway plantings either, it survives or it doesn't.

Yes, humidity is reigning ever present, very early especially. came back from my morning walk, and was a wet , sopping mess of a woman. I still liked hearing about the kids popping fireworks in early preparation for the 4th. Only kids can enjoy loud popping and bangs, but that is part of life right...passage for the young is enjoying LOUD ! ? take care !! Gina
I love handwatering plants...especially with a garden hose. It gives me a chance to stand there and observe everything that's happening in that particular part of the garden.
I couldn't imagine having to limit my watering and having things possibly die. I would find that very frustrating. We sure could use some of your sunshine. It's been raining for days now.
The photo of the red hibiscus is facinating. Do you know it's name?
Florida Girl ~ I'll have to see about seeds from these gaillardia. The hibiscus is really neat isn't it?
Gina ~ Kids can handle loud bangs and pops, but not me. I never did like that sort of thing. The funny thing is, soon after I came in they quit.
Susan ~ I love hand watering too with the garden hose. There is something soothing about doing that.
Gayle ~ We've been on water restrictions, even though we have a well, for a couple of years now. We can hand water though, and we can use drip irrigation mornings and evenings, but regular sprinklers are only allowed two days, mornings and evening both days.
Dave ~ the name of the hibiscus is Hibiscus schizopetalus ~ Coral Hibiscus, Skeleton Hibiscus, Chinese or Japanese Latern, or Fringed Hibiscus.

Today I'm taking some time to sing with "old folk" in a nursing home and then an outing with a blogging friend. Thankful for the break in humidity and cooler temps over the past couple of days. Bracing for a return to heat and humidity....
What a fantastic Hibiscus! I love Passion blooms.They are so unusual and lovely. I have never saw that type of Blanket flower before. So pretty.

I'm not a big fan of fireworks, either, but our son and daughter-in-law love them. I imagine I'll be inside with our grandson and 6 year old niece who doesn't like the loud noise of fireworks, either. She talks non-stop, though, but we'll get through it. We may all be inside, though, because it's supposed to rain.
You have some lovely blooms that are surviving the heat. I'm needing to do some watering, too, even though we had lots of rain in June.
