Hi Folks ~ It is almost 8:30 p.m. I've got dishes to wash, then I plan on heading off to bed to read for awhile.
This afternoon while I was washing dishes in the scullery I noticed white blooms in the growth outside the window that I hadn't seen before. I thought oh my gosh, I think those are Madagascar vine or Bridal Wreath vine, Stephanotis floribunda. I went outside, saw that that's exactly what it was, got the step ladder and proceeded to unwind the vine from some rose canes, so that they would hang down lower and I could enjoy the blooms beauty and scent. Tomorrow they will probably be open. I've had this for a few years and have not had any blooms since I first got it, so this is thrilling to me. I took pictures of the two clusters, shown below.

It is always exciting to see new blooms, especially after a few years!!! Enjoy your new bloom and the fragrance! Have a great weekend!
Beautiful white blossoms! What a lovely surprise to end your day with. Enjoy!
I have never grown Stephanotis. What a great surprise and treat for you, but even more wonderful is that you appreciate it.
Love,
Sharon
I get excited about new flowers blooming too. This one of yours is going to be a beauty and fragrant!
I dropped what I was doing when I first spotted the brown iris all the way across the yard. I still don't remember planting it. One lonely bloom stalk and I was excited as could be!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Sounds like YOU're having heat & humidity, too! My plan is to be outdoors the minute the sun is hinting to rise (before the heat)! I have some weeding to do.
I've enjoyed looking out your sculley window with you. The sights are beautiful.
How rewarding to get blooms after waiting for so long. Let us see them after they open up. They look like they will be beautiful. I love scented blooms. Enjoy!
What a wonderful treat!
God gave you a gift that was right in your garden the whole time , love that ! Gina
How exciting! Blooms are all the sweeter and more beautiful when we've waited years for them, aren't they! Beautiful sky shot.
Surprise for you, how nice. The heat and humidity have been terrible here too....too early in the season, makes me wonder what hurricane season will be like...sigh
We garden parents get so excited when a new plant starts to bloom LOL! It is pretty and I like those glossy leaves it has too.
How nice that it's blooming for you after a long wait!
