~~~ Christmas Greetings from Plum Cottage ~~~
Dear Folks ~ Forgive me for being away so long, the longest I've ever not posted. Time is zipping right along. Things have been happening here, the load on my shoulders is being lifted and I am oh so thankful. There's still a lot to do, but forward progress is being made. I 'plan' to get back into blogging more regularly in the new year.
It's hard to believe Christmas is a week from tomorrow. May you have times of love, joy and peace during this holiday season. May the Hope of the season fill your hearts to overflowing. Jesus, God with skin on, was born because of His great love for us. He came to save us all, so that we could spend eternity with Him. No more pain, death, sorrow, or sin, all will be peace and joy forevermore. If you don't yet know Him, my prayer is that you will come to know Him and love him. You are precious to Him. Seek Him and you will find Him.
Now here are some glimpses from my home sweet home, the little haven that we created here through the years. We moved in here in 1973. It was built in 1950-1951. A tiny house before the movement of tiny homes began.
Jesus said,
“Come to me,
all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29
May your Christmas week be peace filled wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
May 2022 be a better year for all, all around the world.
Love, prayers & hugs,
FlowerLady
Your home looks wonderful for the Christmas season, Lorraine. So many things I like about it when looking around........your lovely lit-up tree, the book shelves with all your treasured books, the gold mantel, the Mary and Jesus painting, the little white bird (I have one just like that with a red hat), and the white vase of flowers on your kitchen table. I think I see red roses in the bunch. The Nativity scene is beautiful. Everything looks so warm and cozy all decorated for the season. A Merry Christmas to you, Lorraine. May the spirit of Christmas fill your heart with joy and love.
Lorraine, it is so good to see your post. Your pictures are just lovely, it seems you really managed to get decorated for Christmas with plenty of cheer. Did I catch a peek of Miss Tork in one of the photos? Hope she's doing well too. Your rooms look absolutely lovely and the way you captured the reflection of your tree in the mirror is remarkable. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, and that you will be able to see family and friends at Christmas. I really like your little white Snowbird wearing the knitted hat. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Lynn and Precious
Amen to that! Your home looks so cozy and festive. Thank you for all the encouraging words and the Scriptures.
Hi Lorraine! It is so good to see you back in blog land. I love your home all decorated for Christmas. It looks so homey and cozy. I also love that you have made so much room for books in your "tiny home." So glad to hear that things are going well and burdens are being lifted. Praise God. Have a very Merry Christmas!
Your house looks warm and cozy, just the way a house is meant to be. I love all your Christmas decorations, they make the place look festive and ready for Christmas Day.
I hope your Christmas is merry and bright and all good things come your way in the New Year.
Beautiful decorations, a vase of roses, hearts entwined, blessed Season's Greetings to you, the load that has been lifted is a true Christmas Gift. Love and all Good Wishes for 2022, from the far south.XXXXX
What a pretty and cozy little home you have. I love the ceiling and arched doorways. May God bless you this Christmas and in the New Year.
It was a nice surprise seeing your blog here today. You have your home so beautifully decorated for Christmas. So many interesting things to see and admire. I'm going to have to go back for a second look to fully enjoy everything. Your needlework heart shows up so beautifully on your Christmas tree. It really sparkles.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Cozy New Year.
Everything is beautiful!
Your home looks very cozy and festive. Wishing you a joyous Christmas.
Things are looking nice and festive at your place. A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!
Oh Lorraine, your little house is adorable. It doesn't even look real, it looks like a doll's house. It is decorated so pretty and looks so safe and cozy. I could spend a week there with you just admiring everything. Hope you have a warm wonderful Christmas. Your post is beautiful.
Your Plum Cottage is charming and welcoming and I can see that it is filled with meaningful treasures!! Merry Christmas to you!!
Hello Lorraine, it's been a while.
Your home looks, as always, lovely.
Can I ask, have you ever listened to Handel's 'Messiah'?
Blessings and all that's good to you.
Your cottage is darling, Lorraine. It's so cozy and inviting. The arched doorways, the planked and beamed ceilings, and the oh-so charming kitchen, along with all your books and memorabilia and vintage decor is just lovely. Now dressed for Christmas it's even more precious. Great to see so much of your cottage. Have a very Merry Christmas, my friend.
Your cozy house looks so pretty! I love the arched doorways and the wood on the ceiling.
May you have a blessed Christmas, Rainey.
Dear Lorraine, each area of your home has an inviting feel to it; I like how even your bookshelves are transformed into Christmas scenes. Your nativity sets are beautiful. Have a joyful Christmas.
Your house is so beautiful and welcoming. I love all the little touches in it. I could look, and look, and look at all the interesting items and furniture and artistic touches and craftsmanship like the wood ceilings and the skirted counters. And the holiday touches are just so interesting and unique.
Your home is so filled with love and charm, dear Lorraine. I love the arched doorways and pretty floors and ceilings, the bookshelves full of sweet treasures, all the paintings, and your cozy furniture and pillows. All of your Christmas decorations are so lovely - I love the tinsel garlands and the precious nativity. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas filled with peace and love. Hugs xo Karen
Home Sweet Home, I enjoyed the Christmas tour. So many beautiful treasures and memories.
Merry Christmas!
Your home is lovely! I especially love how charming and inviting your kitchen looks! Have a peaceful, joyful Christmas!
Hello Lorraine, thank you for such a lovely tour of your home. I felt like you took me by the hand and showed me around, then we sat, had tea and chatted about all the memory ornaments.
I love your decorations and your cozy home. I miss our little home in Ohio, but so grateful for the one we have now in Colorado.
The garland with little bells just tickle me and made me smile. Who knows why!
I have a little tree just like yours. I call it my memory tree, since all my ornaments are from something special. I try to get one each year to represent the one thing that was most important to us that year. Need to slow down that tradition though, they aren't all fitting on my tree :-).
Merry Christmas to you and wishing you God's blessings, Dee
Happy New Year Beautiful Flower Lady. Sending Blessings and Wishes for a great year 2022 for you and everybody in your life.
Hello, FL!! Good to see you here again. I'm also slow posting these days. I've never before gotten such a good look at the inside of your house! What a beautiful space. Those rounded archways are so pretty, and you don't see them often. It seems like a very open and airy home, bright and cozy - perfect. I love your coffee table, and the wooden ceiling too.
Happy New Year to you! May this be a year of healing and hope for us all. Much love from NC.
What a wonderful Christmas gift you have given us, inviting us, bringing us into your wonderful house that you have made so cozy and Christmas-y. I am very blessed. I saved your creche photo for my "Christmas Screensaver." It will always make me think of you at Christmas.
Happy New Year, Lorraine!
Hello! I love your cottage and your blog! I also am a widow, it will be six years in April! You give lots of food for thought. Hope you are doing well and look forward to new blogs!
Such a lovely Christmas post you shared Lorraine! How cozy and darling your home is! We live in a tiny home too, and it is amazing how much you can still fit in them :) Your decor is so cozy and welcoming! Love all the bright lights for the season :) I hope you are having a blessed New Year! With much love to you from Idaho :)
Lorraine, hope you are warm this weekend. It has been bitter cold here
and I see Florida will get some of the cold too. Hope your new year is
going well. Lynn
You haven't posted in awhile Lorraine, I am just stopping in to check on you and see how you are doing? Hope you are ok. I loved the last post.....your home is so beautiful and so warm and welcoming and cozy. Love how you decorate. Hope you post soon. Stay warm, safe and happy!
Rainey, are you OK? I had emailed you too, to check in on you. Worried about you...
Hope all is well with you? Been since the Holidays that you've had a post, or at least you've had time to change your header! Perhaps it is spring cleaning of your beautiful home/lot. Take care and check in just for a short note.
Luvya
Flower Lady, I hope you are well. I am concerned you haven't posted since Christmas and so I mailed you a card a few weeks ago. Hugs to you.
