One day at a time

Good morning Folks ~ here we are almost to the middle of January already. Time is zipping right along. I pray that you all are doing well, staying safe and finding some joy in each new day that we are blessed with.

My wrist is still healing, it will take time. I'm learning more patience in this time of covid, and to trust God with everything. An online friend told me about a linament, Zhen Gu Shui. I googled it, read the reviews and ordered it in a spray. It came yesterday and I've used it twice. I'll let you know what I think after using it for about a week. So far, I do believe it has lessened the pain. The healing of this linament goes all the way to the bones.

I had a hard time with opening cans with my swing away can opener because of this injury so looked up electric can openers. I got discouraged looking at ads and reviews. One I really, liked but the reviews mentioned metal slivers and that turned me off. The next day in my you-tube feed I got a recommendation to watch a video for this very can opener. It was done by a lady and she did a very good review. This opens the cans around the outer edge, unsealing the lid from can, no sharp edges. The way you would get metal slivers is by letting the can do another revolution, instead of stopping after the first one. This works fantastic, what an invention.

I am so itching to work in my gardens, but at this time just do very little as everything continues to grow. This is just one area that needs work. ;-)

I ordered two new hand garden tools that I really needed. One came a week or so ago, and the other is due to be delivered today. I did try out the hedge shears just to see how they were, and oh my I can hardly wait to do some serious hedge trimming. Both were bought through Amazon, and gift money from friends bought these two tools.

Corona hedge shears below.

Felco pruning shears below.

I have carted out some more cut limbs piled out back by the 'caravan', to the front curbside to be picked up by brush people on Sat. Needless to say, I go slowly and don't do too much.

My friend Sean and another man from his church will be here on Saturday to work more on replacing fencing. That will be nice.

Here are some of the flowers that are blooming now. I wish you could smell the roses and other bloomers whose scents are filling the air. No names at this time as my wrist is really starting to bother me as I type.

That's it for now. If you need peace and joy in your life, seek Jesus. Talk to him, give him all of your cares.

Love, hugs and prayers,

FlowerLady

A picture is worth a 1000 words, Lorraine, so no writing needed on
the photos of roses and hibiscus. Lovely, especially to me up north.
Sounds like a great can opener, a kitchen helper is always welcome.
Just don't get carried away using the new pruners til your wrist is
much better. Can't wait to see more of the fence completed for you. Lynn

Such a lovely post, Lorraine. All those beautiful flowers in anticipation of spring and summer. It's snowing and blustering here, so I have no longings to be out in my garden (wink) today -- it's totally a hibernation day for us. Working away on a new post, doing some reading, might even make a treat this morning for afternoon tea.

Glad you found something to help your wrist feel less pain as it heals. And what a helpful can opener you found for yourself.

Wishing you a pleasant day...

Such beautiful flowers, Lorraine! Always a joy to see them in the winter. I live in Florida too, but much farther north than you and we don't have too much blooming right now, except for camellias. I hope your wrist heals quickly. That can opener sounds great. When I need a new one I will check into that kind. I do use an electric one and have for all our married life as I am a lefty and most hand can openers are for right handed people. I've never had an issue with slivers of metal...but maybe I just didn't know I should watch for it. Needless to say, we've been married for 51 years and haven't had a problem yet. Maybe someday if they ever autopsy us they will find a whole can's worth of metal in us. LOL. Sorry, I just never thought about it before. That liniment sounds good. I do hope it helps and that you will feel much better soon so you can get back to that garden that you love!! Blessings to you dear friend.

I really enjoy seeing all your flowers. We have had trouble with can openers as they just are to hard to make them work. We have a hand held one that works better but that wouldn't be good for a bad wrist.

Those roses are so beautiful , they don’t even need a name.I'm glad you are listening to your body and going slow, while you heal. Being alone it is sometimes easy to try to do too much. I know, I've been there, but always pay for it later.

Once that wrist is better you'll be all set to work in the garden with those new tools. All the flowers are so pretty

Happy to hear your wrist is healing.
Your flowers are beautiful.
Mine are covered in snow. I've been going thorough photos from last Summer and
looking at seed catalogues dreaming about next Spring.
Take care and stay well.

I'm so sorry about this trouble with your wrist. Like you, this is the perfect time of year in our area to do the best yard work, provided the day's weather is good. Today it was 60, sunny, and I was itching to get out and cut vines out of some shrubs. It was lovely to be out there. I hope you heal soon!! Your new tools look great. The right tools, and sharp, make all the difference.

Glad that your wrist is continuing to improve! Like L.D., I always use a hand-held can opener, but I suppose I'd need to change over if I had wrist/hand/arm difficulties. Good that you found what you needed! I wonder what put a bigger smile on your face . . . the can opener or those new garden tools? :)

Hey Rainey, I hope you continue to get some relief from pain and soreness! I'm glad you shared these beautiful flower pics. My Star Geranium, and one of my Kalanchoes, are both blooming beautiful pink blossoms. I'm overwintering on a table at the LR window. It's nice to have some pretty spring color in winter. Take care ~

Your flowers are a joy to behold as always. Stay away from working in your garden dear friend, until your wrist is tip top condition. I bought an electric can opener too, which works fine, mostly I use it to open cans of pumpkin puree for my Bounce's meals.
