Summer here already?

Good morning Folks ~ It is a new day, a gift from our Creator. May we rejoice and be glad in it.

Yesterday morning I went out to work outside and it felt warm and humid. I worked for a couple of hours until I could no longer stand it with the sun beating down. I came inside into air-conditioning and it felt wonderful. I checked our weather it was 83 but with the humidity level, the real feel was 93!!! In February???

I worked yesterday on weeding and trimming overgrown paths. Am making forward progress a little at a time.

I'm working on getting potted plants grouped together more for easier watering and care and enjoyment for me during the summer months. This hibiscus below was a great price from a local veggie market. A wonderful addition to Plum Cottage gardens. One day I'll write up a post with the different hibsicus that I have.

Look at the size of this bloom. The color is deeper and more velvety looking in real life.

That's it for now. I'll show more photos later of this hibiscus and of the garden paths taking shape.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

Beautiful flower! Two years ago we visited our son and his wife in Florida on this day. It was only in the low 70's then. Andrea

Oh my, air conditioning in February? As the snow from our big event is slowly melting, a few days in such warm weather sounds divine. We always admire what we can't have, right? (Well, not that high humidity!)

Beautiful, it almost surpasses Hugs and Kisses, that is to me so wonderful with its different shades. Stay cool.We have cold weather arriving at the weekend, it will be so welcome.

Beautiful bloom. I heard that in the Philippines one contains carnauba wax and was used to polish shoes

First, thank you for your kind comment you made on my post recently, I appreciate it.
The Hibiscus is just wonderful, you have the perfect weather for this kind of plant, I think we can grow then here in the uk but they are not as luscious as yours.

Hibiscus -- lovely. I finally found how to fix the setting that was preventing me from commenting on blogs and filling a cart of new clothes at Tog Shop. I'll be busy, now.

Thanks for your encouragement in the past months.

That's an amazing bloom for sure. No hints of summer here in the Northeastern part of Washington state but that's no surprise. It's nice to see how you enjoy your garden. Happy Tuesday to you.

Wow, Lorraine, that's HOT!!! How nice to be able to work in the garden all year, though....I know I'm ready for a break by the fall, but I do miss it in the winter!

That hibiscus is huge and very pretty. I would love just a little bit of that heat you're getting. I wouldn't want it that hot but I'm tired of the cold weather we're having. It was only 5 degrees when I went to work this morning.

My hibiscus bloomed this past summer and I had forgotten about it until I saw yours. I am hoping it made it through the winter. We are sitting with 9 inches of snow everywhere and a new batch is coming again tonight. The Eastern coastline and Florida is coming alive right now. You should have an outside thermometer that you can see while you are working so you can keep yourself safe.

That hibiscus is HUGE, Loraine. I am so glad you are making progress in your garden. It makes a lot of sense to group your plants for watering.

I hope you have a blessed (not too hot & humid) rest of the week- xo Diana

Those are summer temps! I'm in WVa with my mother, and it's below freezing with a couple of inches of snow overnight. Brr! Your hibiscus is lovely. Enjoy your beautiful "winter" weather down there - perfect time for yard work :)

It is hard to imagine such warm temperatures when we're having such "February" weather here!! But 83 degrees and humidity would have me heading to the air conditioner too!

Beautiful red hibiscus!!
