Rain, flowers, needlework

Good afternoon Friends ~ It is a gray day, lightly raining off and on. We needed the rain, so I’m not complaining. This will do the gardens good.

Here are some flowers from a couple of days ago.

Ceasar Weed ~ an invasive that I’ve got to pull/dig up. They have burs that stick to you or a critter, plus drop seeds and spread.  Pretty blooms though.

This is Philippine Violet. Very hardy and easy to grow.

Plumbago and a spent hamelia patens.

‘Kathleen’ ~ I took some cuttings of her this week and hope she will root for me. I love the blooms and and their sweet, delicate scent.

As I was editing the picture below, I noticed the one petal is in the shape of a heart. Smile

Today is 23 months since my dear husband and best friend left this planet to be with God. It was on a Sunday morning, and today is a Sunday too. I was a little depressed earlier, but after working outside for a bit with a little project, I started feeling better. It started to sprinkle and then rain so I came inside.

I’ve had a project in mind for quite sometime now, and just recently found beads to make it. Tear drop beads and this neat little bottle. Two tear drops are sewn behind the bottle and three are falling into it. My first attempt.  This one is for a friend. I plan to make up others to put in my Etsy shop. This was the right thing to work on this day.

“You keep track of all my sorrows.

You have collected all my tears in your bottle.

You have recorded each one in your book.”

Psalm 56:8 (NLT)

One day,

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes,

and there will be

no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.

All these things are gone forever."

Revelation 21:4

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy...

Psalm 126:5

****************

God’s word speaks to my heart. It uplifts my spirit. It encourages me to keep on going, one day at a time.

We don’t know ‘why’ things happen when they do, or the way they do, but we can know, that He loves us more than we can even imagine at this time. All will be known when the time is right.

All we have to do is believe in Him, call on Him, trust Him.

Have a great upcoming week ~ FlowerLady

Thank you for this verse, FL, and your handwork as usual is most beautiful. You show every little flower in the most attractive light, too.

Your flowers look so great as usual. I am jealous of the climate. If you go to my blog and rejoin my site under followers. I bet it will set up a better connection to my blog as I think I had to change my address for security reasons. I had too much info in my address. Just follow me again and it will delete the old address. Have a good week.

such a beautiful post today Lorraine. I think of you often and wonder how you are doing without your sweetheart. My sister is trying to adapt her life now without her love and I see her struggle and ache to help her. My prayers are for you today dear.

I loved every beautiful bloom today!

Beautiful post! It's always funny to me, and quite meaningful if you get down to the Spiritual side of it, how beautiful the invasive and damaging weeds can be. Reminds me of God's plans for us, and how we should be able to find beauty even in the thorny patches, sometimes the most beauty! God bless and keep you Dear FlowerLady!

Love the bottle of tears. I find myself shedding them still missing my Mom so I can only imagine the depth of your sorrow missing your beloved DH.

May we continue to find comfort in the beauty of our gardens (amongst other things).

Have a wonderful week, Rainey.

Hugs,

eli

Sometimes when I look at your flower pictures I imagine walking through your gardens. I can only imagine how beautiful they are. The needlework it beautiful too. I think of that scripture often as well.

Your flowers are lovely. I finally got a plumbago to grow in my garden but it doesn't have the large pale blue flowers like yours, which I think is the most beautiful form of plumbago. I hope 'Kathleen' roots for you!

It's wonderful that you take comfort and real peace from God's words. There is no other source so reliable. The tear bottle work is very pretty -- good creativity there!

A lovely post - your words are so true and so beautiful.
I love to come here and see the flowers - I've never heard of any you post it seems but I suppose that's because of the difference in climates. I do love the plumbago one - it's so very pretty!

I love the promises of the scripture you ended your post with, what a day it will be when all pain and sorrow are gone forever and we will be rejoicing before his throne. Have a wonderful weekend, many blessings to you

That is a beautiful bottle of tears craft you made. Years ago my friend wrote a book titled "He Gathers Your Tears". Hey, even your weeds are pretty, if that is a weed in your first photo.

Rainey, you're in my thoughts and prayers; people say grief eases and I suppose it does. It also seems to ease and then, wham!, comes back with a vengeance, leaving me weak kneed and gasping for breath. I am so ready to move forward...away from this farm and all the moment by moment memories. God willing, in His time.
the bottle of tears is precious and know your friend will appreciate.

Hi Girlfriend, Sorry it's been so long. I love your flowers and your stitchery. They're so pretty and meaningful.

It's interesting how just getting outside and working lifts our spirits. Me too! I hope you're staying warm. It's cold all over right now. Hugs.

I'm going to email you with a question.

Rainey, your flowers are a joy, even the 'weeds' with their glorious blooms. 23 months, seems like an instant and an eternity all in one. I shed a tear thinking of Mark and you. I love your needlework, such a beautiful saying. Hugs to you, dear Rainey.
