Good morning Friends ~ In my email inbox this morning, I had the following from GriefShare. If you know of anyone grieving, these daily emails of encouragement are really good. I look forward to reading them each day.
***
Remember the good times;
cherish the memories,
but live each day moving forward.
Focus your thoughts on what is before you
and how you are going to get there.

The scripture they shared was this one:
I have set before you life and death,
blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life
Deu 30:19

That was just what I needed for today. The past two days the grief has almost swallowed me up and Mark wouldn’t want that. He would want me to be my positive happy self as best as I can be without him. So, I am looking forward to making our little cottage a sweet retreat to heal and grow with each new day. It is a process, and with everyone it is different.
Thank you all for following along and I hope I’ve not bored you with all that’s going on, or made you leave my blog because it’s too much. Thank you for your continued love, encouragement, prayers and support.
Now here are some blooms to brighten your day and mine too.
Azaleas
Blue Butterfly bush Clerodendrum ugandense
Cape honeysuckle
Blue Clock vine
Crossandra
Ground orchids with poinsettia blooms in the background
Impatiens
Mother-of-millions
Pentas
Reed orchids Epidendrums
La Marne rose
I think this one is Bon Silene. This is from a cutting, my main plant died, so I can’t compare blooms, but I’m pretty sure that’s what this is. If not, someone can set me straight.
Well, it’s time for a nap. I went to the bank, got groceries, (had a hard time there keeping from breaking down, the tears started and I had to ask God for help, and made it although in a fog.) I dropped some books and stuff at the good will, and bought a little hard back book for 49 cents, ‘God’s Little Devotional Book for Women’.

Life is not a problem to be solved,
it is a gift to be enjoyed.

This is the day the Lord hath made
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I was thinking your blooms are a mirror of mine . . . until I got to your roses. Sigh ~ someday I'm going to try growing them again.
Hugs my dear friend,
eli
A wonderful verse from the Bible. Your flowers are looking so great.
Many of us are here for you. Keep pouring your heart out and we will keep praying. I think this will help people that may go through the same thing one day. I have been restless lately and I hate it when I get that way because nothing seems to please me, but I just keep doing what I've planned to do and keep busy and I know it will pass. Hugs.
We will never leave you and you are never alone with so many kindred spirits and souls following you.
I will email you later, I have been tied up for a few days.
Love the florals you are presenting. It sure brightens up a dull and cold day here.
Love and Hugs my friend.
Beautiful blooms, and yes, everyone is different in grief, you just have to live through it and "choose life" The daily emails sound a good help. You're not boring me, I think you're one strong lady and a lucky one for sharing so much of your life with your best friend.
Your flowers are gorgeous! I can only imagine what you are going through. Praying for you, Lorraine! {{hugs}}
PS. Lorraine was my grandmother's middle name. :)
Your blooms are beautiful and so many to cheer the soul. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. Hugs to you my friend...
I love that daily Griefshare Lorraine, I too will embrace that and remember it. thank you!
Your gorgeous blooms made me smile and the thought crossed my mind that I just know I am going to asking gardening advice of you!
Leave your blog? too much? NEVER!
As the for the last part of your post today, my best advice is to always always carry lots of Kleenex.
Oh, hugs dear LOrraine to you!
Your idea to make your home a place to heal and to grow is lovely, as are your flower photos. I prayed for you right now that you will be comforted. And let those tears flow, they can be healing.
Healing after such a major loss is hard work.Only those who have never walked that road would tell you otherwise. I love the beautiful flowers and the water drops on them are exquisite.
Hi Lorraine, your photos are absolutely gorgeous! It is certainly a wonderful set of words from GriefShare for you, something we all need to remember! Thinking of you! Cheers~
I love the sentiment expressed in the beginning of the email you shared at the beginning. "Live each day going forward". As you say, your darling Mark would want nothing else.
Loved the blooms you shared today. So many are very, very familiar to me. They can be seen in my garden too.
I can't believe you have all these gorgeous blooms now, when almost everything is asleep in our gardens... Color means a lot!
