Middle of August already

Good afternoon Folks ~ It’s Wednesday and I’m not working at all this week. A little unpaid vacation.  The vacation part is nice, the not getting paid, not so nice, but that’s the breaks sometimes. I will be working 4 days next week. This morning it didn’t feel too bad out so I decided to mow while I had the chance. I was beat after that, and it did rain later. Before I mowed, I got two large chicken breasts into the crockpot and poured on a sauce made up of melted butter, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and capers. I’ll fix some asparagus, and either mashed potatoes or rice. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. It will be nice having left-overs later on too.

I’m glad you all enjoyed the last post about the Zebra longwings and the hamelia paten blooms. Those flowers sure are a butterfly magnet.

This is an alamanda that I rooted from a cutting from a friend. The camera lens fogged up when I went outside to take pictures, so this photo is a bit hazy.

I want to thank you all for your kind thoughts, well wishes and prayers about this bug we had.  DH thought he had reached the peak in the last post I wrote, but alas the next night was absolutely horrible. In the middle of the night his neck pain got worse, to the point where it was excruciating, as his neck kept having horrific spasms. I thought of calling 911, I was so scared, but he didn’t want me to and I didn’t want to either. We prayed instead. The spasms eventually subsided. The next morning I went out to the stores with a list in hand. Drinking straws, something strong for pain, and a neck brace. I’ve been massaging his neck lightly with essential oils, he took Aleve, and while he’s not 100% back to normal, his neck is very stiff and sore, he is definitely doing much better than he was. He’s off the Aleve now, and taking vitamins and herbs, drinking LOTS of water, more than we normally do. Monday I also bought some Tiger Balm which has really been good for his neck and shoulders too. We brought in one of our outdoor adjustable lounge chairs, rigged it with pillows and he’s been able to sleep in that.  Hopefully he’ll soon be sleeping in our bed again. I miss him. He even did a little project in his workshop today.
