Embroidery finished

Finished at last.

I really enjoyed embroidering this piece.

The size is ~ 3 3/4 inches x 3 3/4 inches.

This is our state butterfly,
and the flowers are Hamelia paten, or Firebush.
The inspiration was my own photograph taken in the secret garden.
We see these butterflies all the time
flitting from flower to flower
out the scullery window
which is over the sink where dishes are washed.

Very pretty! I love the nice contrast between the dark black butterfly, and the bright orange flowers. :)

Have a great 4th of July!

What a beautiful embroidery piece. You are very talented to stitch this off a photograph. I'm impressed at how much you always seem to accomplish.

How beautiful. I love to embroider but I'm not nearly as talented as you.

Flower Lady - That is a beautiful embroidery piece. To be able to create that from a photograph is a true talent. We've been missing the zebras around here. Last summer they were quite plentiful so maybe soon they will return.

Very nice work. I used to do crewel embroidery, but I never tried to do it from a picture....always a stamped pattern. By the way...I love to come here and listen to your beautiful music.

Very beautiful indeed FL! Your stitching is so even - I can almost see the tranquility it brings you while you are sitting doing it.
