A Perfect Day

The rain has moved on
And left a new day
Nothing seems to move everything is still
It’s just a perfect day

The shadows and light
That move with the wind
Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray
Just another perfect day

On the wild and misty hillside
Fear is nature’s warning
Hunger here is never far away

And all of this world
Is for children who play
Days that never end
always should remain
Another perfect day

(Lyrics to song by Miriam Stockley
sung by her in the video below.)

We had some very bad weather the last couple of days in North Florida.

What a perfect way to start my day.
I have some new plants to fill in the places where the short lived flowers have left bare spots. That is one of my favorite things to do. Jenny

What a lovely poem. I especially enjoyed the line about light and shadows. A beautiful moment to be in for sure.

I'm glad you're having such a nice day. After severe weather it really makes you appreciate just a "regular" day, they are perfect.

Thank you all for your comments. I want to make something clear and have done so in my post, that I didn't write those lyrics. Those are the words to the song Perfect Day sung by Miriam Stockley in the little video.

Hi Darla ~ We've had a lot of rain the past few days with some thunder and lightening. On the weather map, your area did look like it was getting it worse. Hope it will clear up for you soon.

Jenny ~ Glad you liked, it started my day off nicely also. I worked on a deck project. Hopefully I can get out again today to do some brick work.

L.D. ~ I cannot take credit for the words in that post. I should have made it clear to begin with, sorry about that. Glad you enjoyed the youtube.

Lilsista ~ Thank you. I was stoked on a project I worked on yesterday morning, some deck work, so worked on that for about 3 hours, even in light rain. DH was impressed, so that really made working and sweating worth it.

LeSan ~ The words were beautiful in that piece. That's why I had to look them up to go with the video, because some of them were hard to understand in the song.

Catherine ~ Perfect days are wonderful, and we probably have more of them than we realize.

Hope you all have a perfect or as near to perfect day as possible today. Remember to take breaks, drink plenty of water, and enjoy the process of whatever project you are working on.

Such beautiful lyrics...today is the most perfect day we've had in ages...it's in the low 70's and not at all humid. That's quite unusual for us in VA. Have a lovely 4th of July!
