A glimpse of my Plum Cottage Jungle

Good morning everyone ~ thought I'd make a little video showing part of my overgrown jungle gardens. I was surprised to see that 'Tabster' was sitting in the first 'faux bois' chair shown in the video, didn't see him until I watched it. I did pull out some grass from the garden, lots more to do. I'm inspired to get out there 'early' in the mornings after seeing this.

Thanks for visiting, and for your kind and encouraging comments that you leave. Morale boosters.

Enjoy your week ~ FlowerLady

That was a fun garden tour with your video, I did not notice Tabster on the chair, he must be camouflaged. You have created a tropical sanctuary away from the busy street. I am calling it a sanctuary, it has a quality of peace and protection. Hugs from me.

The video was very helpful for understanding some of your outdoor space. It's overgrown but that happens quickly - the good thing is that cleaning things up gives so much instant gratification. Slow and steady will work wonders, even if you have to wait for cooler weather. Good luck.

Hi Lorraine. I really enjoyed this tour of your yard. It is like a lovely jungle oasis in the city. Thanks for sharing! See you again soon!

That was fun!! Thanks for the tour of the front garden.
I know what you mean about being driven in by the mosquitoes. They are fierce!
I was telling my daughter this morning (who is sweltering in Mississippi), that when I watch folks in Sweden or Scotland or northern England who are gardening and digging potatoes and eating outside (and forgetting to mow, and calling it overgrown!), that they don't live in a tropical rain forest like we do over here! You especially. I would give my eye teeth to live in Scotland this time of year.

Thankyou for showing us your garden! I'm not sure if it's a "secret garden" or a nursery! You have so, so many plants...just beautiful! Andrea

I really enjoyed this walk through your secret garden Lorraine. I'll be coming back to it more than once just to enjoy the flowers that you have. And of course you know me I love seeing cats anywhere and everywhere so I'm kind of glad that one was sitting out in the open. Thanks for stopping by the other day we appreciate that you're very much. Whatever you do just don't overwork however I do see that you have your hands full with all those beautiful plants. Lynn

Keep cool. Oneweed at a time. Don’t overdo it in this unbearable heat.

I noticed one healthy plant in your overgrowth is ferns! I am still suffering pain in my hand from a couple of hours I spent in my daughter's garden this month, pulling out a hundred fern plants from those that are encroaching from the forest. I didn't finish, but I uncovered the blueberries and strawberries. I imagine that your tropical ferns are not so easy to yank. I know you will be careful about thinning your "jungle" by yourself. I can see why your garden is so beloved, with all the plants and furniture and decor, each of which carries meaning and has its own unique beauty.

Your garden may be a little overgrown but I love it! So many neat little places to sit and pretty vines and blooms and paths. I don't know you do it all. It's beautiful to me. I saw the kitty. He is so cute there.

Wow, that certainly is a lush jungle! It would be very overwhelming (at least, to me) to try and clean it out. I love those chairs you have placed around. So different and interesting - lots of character! And more places for sweet kitties to perch!

Everything is so pretty. Do you happen to have Glenda of Living and Gardening in the Ozarks last name? I know she just dropped off from her blog a long time ago but thought maybe I could find out where they live & have they passed on.
