Etsy shop is Open :-)

Hello Folks ~ Finally I stopped procrastinating, took photos, edited them, then uploaded them to Etsy and wrote out descriptions etc. Hours of time and my eyes are tired.  I have more items to get finish up, take pictures of and upload, all in good time.  This at least got me back in gear.

Well, we got some much needed rain in the wee hours of this morning and just had a little more a few minutes ago.  T-storms are predicted through Friday.  I did laundry a couple of days ago, so I’m caught up there.

Yesterday morning I started working in the heart patio area and worked on another place nearby, trying to get roses and other potted plants grouped together for ease of caring for them, especially during the hot and humid summer weather.

The picture below was taken on the 23rd of May. Someone asked me what the tree was in the middle of the heart.  It is a Jerusalem Thorn or Mexican palo verde, Parkinsonia aculeata. It has big thorns on it but whispy leaves and lovely little yellow and orange flowers which the bees love.

Tweaked area yesterday. More tweaking to do yet, but after about 3-4 hours yesterday I was pooped.

I want the tree to give some nice delicate shade for the caravan, especially in the afternoons.  I need to prune it again to keep it short as it can get to 25 feet tall.

Here is a vibrant bloom from a bromeliad. I love the purple tips. The bad thing about broms is that their leaves hold water for the plants, but mosquitoes like to breed in them too. Sad smile

I look forward to the Royal Poinciana tree blooming every spring/summer. This is growing on the property next to the one behind me.

Yesterday I saw a black snake, harmless to me, great for the gardens. He was at least 3 ft. long, slithering across the grass and went under a  pile of weeds and trimmings that I had stacking up.

This is a ‘glass snake’ or a legless lizard, genus Ophisaurus, not really a snake, saw this one this morning.

Part of my ‘creative’ space.  I brought in an old wood TV tray and this gives me some extra space.  I can just fold it up when not in use.  It’s nice being able to put my legs under it and pull myself up closer.

Last but certainly not least here at ‘Plum Cottage’, Miss Tork.  She was laying in the darkened hall when I came in with camera so I snapped her picture. I am so thankful for her. She has been a great comfort since losing my dear husband. Every time I lay on the bed, nap or night time, she jumps on the bed and climbs on my chest facing me, puts her head under my chin for awhile, then she’ll change position and lay crosswise. After awhile after she’s had enough ‘bonding’ she jumps down. She just waits for me to get into bed, it’s comical.

That’s it from s.e. FL. I’ve heard nothing on the job front so far. The antique dealer who took my name and number, is just moving into the larger shop, having it painted, etc. If I don’t hear from her in a couple of weeks, I’ll give her a call. Keep me in your prayers that I’ll be relaxed and not stressed over this financial issue. I am in God’s hands and He knows exactly what is best for me.  I have much to be thankful for, and there is beauty surrounding me.

Your gardens continue to amaze me with your attention to detail and your heart.

Thank-you for the plant i.d. , yes, the blooms in a bucket are Clematis.

Your cat knows you, doesn't she ? I think through the many very hard times we've had over the years, my cats seemed to know they were needed as living comforters. They would crawl up near me when I would retreat in my distress, snuggle and purr. Then after awhile everything would seem all right with the world even though circumstances had not changed. I am so thankful to God for those quiet and comforting times and know you are too.

Yay, you got your beautiful work listed on Etsy, and I know how much work that involved !

I DID just pray for you, Lorraine! I, too, am learning to live on what we're "given" while being as diligent & responsible as I know to be--all the while trusting the Heavenly Father....

The caravan is looking lovely. It's environment is certainly maturing! And what a great idea - using the fold-up table for additional work space! Hope your weekend is a pleasant one.

Dear Loraine, congratulations to getting your Etsy shop up and running! Hope that your lovely creations are getting bought up in a blink of an eye.
That ‘Incense’ passion flower is absolutely amazing. You reminded me that I want to get a passion flower for my own garden, but I first have to look up their water needs and see if they are suitable for our drought. I don't have much hope, though....
Wishing you that something positive will happen on the job front.
Warm regards,
Christina

Such a blessing to have Miss Tork! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my dogs - they offer such comfort! That's wonderful you've gotten your Etsy shop open again! I love seeing other peoples creative spaces! Yours looks very similar to mine :) As always, I enjoy your lovely photos!

I'm so glad you have a cat -- it's comforting to have a pet, esp. one that clearly loves you. She's pretty too! That passion flower is something else -- how bizarre looking! I like how much variety you have in your blooms. And the little purple caravan ... I think it's so darling. It looks perfect. I'd really love to have a small living space like that. I'd just have to get rid of my piano :(

I'm so glad you got your etsy shop organized. I hope you don't mind if I go find it, and if I can I will share it on Facebook. I think you do such lovely work.

Have a great day!
