Hi Folks ~ It’s been 9 days since I last posted and I’ve a passel of pictures to show you. We are being blessed with cool weather still, low 80’s, cool breezes and the humidity isn’t too bad. I am so thankful for that. We’ve got cloud cover today, which is nice for working outside, which I did some of this morning. I got a load of laundry washed and hung out too and mowed.
Last week I wanted to make pizza, so loaded the ingredients into my bread pan and plugged it in like normal. Well, it did NOT sound right at all, and then the motor just stopped running and was making a grinding noise. I unplugged it, waited a minute and plugged it in again. Same thing. I’ve had this for 14 years and it served us well. Now I will get another one, and Oster 5838 (same brand, but if I’m not mistaken, this one makes horizontal loaves.) I can order it through Walmart and they will send it to my store. The store does not carry it. I did make the pizza dough and let it rise, but kneading the dough really got to my right wrist which was damaged in a car accident in 2000. The machine has been a joy to use, just put in the ingredients, close the lid, plug it in and it does it’s thing. While I’m out doing other things the bread is making and before long it smells wonderful in here.
Anyway, lots of blooming is going on down here in tropical s.e. FL. From what I’ve seen from your blogs, there is lots blooming for most of you too. It’s a great time of year.
The first few photos are of Bauhinia acuminata or Dwarf White Orchid tree. I grew this from seed, planted in 2005. This is the first year that it is loaded with blooms.
It is in the terra cotta pot at the end of the picket fencing, next to the caravan.
The queen crepe is loaded with buds this year. I need to take a picture in the morning, this was taken late afternoon.
This is a new hibiscus. Isn’t it a beauty?

The hibiscus is beautiful. I do love this time of year. Don't you love it when you can grow things from seed and actually get results, very satisfying. Beautiful flowers as always, take care Lorraine

I think that hibiscus us my FAVORITE....with the Prosperity Rosebud a close second! I'm getting accustomed to a new computer. So much to learn. It's slowed me down so much that I didn't even MISS you those 9 days! Once I conquer The Beast, I should be around faster - and more!

The flowers are deliciously beautiful, especially the hibiscus. I remember as a child hibiscus growing wild everywhere in Hawaii. Of course we would have to pick one and put it in our hair !
These are some wonderful blooms. A bit too early round here for such treasures.
And then it also shows that you are a lot milder round your place than here in the cool, damp hills.
That hibiscus is just gorgeous. Mine is just starting to leaf out. Your photos are beautiful - I really enjoy seeing your garden!

Too bad about your bread machine, I enjoy using mine. I like to use the dough cycle, that way I can make round loaves. Super yummy with herbs sprinkled on top.

I was not sure if the little cottage was where you live or if you photographed it and it belonged to someone else. It's adorable...so old fashioned..and is that a screened in back porch?
I kept wanting to peek inside. :) It's the kind of little home I was raised in. Most folks have very large and fancy homes now, however, we don't. Ours is a small 1950's home but not even half as cute and cozy looking as the one you show in the picture.

Don't you just love the big clouds and big sky we all get in the coastal regions? Amazing. I think that along the U.S. eastern seaboard we've all had a really cool spring this far. It was downright chilly yesterday at times ... and almost JUNE! That close-up shot of the Angel Face rose is stunning. I'd love to stroll through your garden with my eyes shut and just SMELL everything, but I'd probably trip and fall into an orchid or something :)
