On the 5th, I read a blog post in Colour Complements. She mentioned a book she goes to a lot for reference, and showed a picture of the cover. I thought to myself, I have this book and I started to look for it. First where I thought it should be, but it wasn’t there.
I said a prayer because I was getting frustrated as I really like this book myself. I knew that He/God knew exactly where it was and I would be lead to it. It might take time, but it would be found. Stressing about it wasn’t going to do me any good at all.
This is where most of my stitch books are. (Forgive the messy shelves, they are still a work in progress. I’m getting more little 3-drawer units, online from Walmart, cheaper buying a set of 6 than buying them in store, plus they deliver to store free, to put jars of beads in and get more organized. I will put two to a shelf. I’m excited.)
On with the hunt. I knew this group of books was too small but I looked here more than once anyway, and on the footstool in front of this bookcase.
Could it be under this stack of Jeri Lander’s sweet books, since the one on top is all about Mamsey Bear and Mopkin and lovely embroidery work created by Mamsey? No.
How about in this stack?
There are some beading and gold work embroidery books here. No.
Maybe I absentmindedly put it in this bookcase? No.
Ok, let me go back into my little creative area and library of sorts that has ‘some’ of our books in it.
That’s what I did yesterday after I got home from work. I sat in my chair, (covered in green), faced the wall of books and started looking on the right side first.
This is the likely shelf, but no such luck.
Three more shelves of books. Not there either.
Getting warm.
Next shelf and eye level, eureka!
It could have grabbed me it was so close. Sheesh!
I said more than one prayer of thanksgiving
and was just tickled pink to have found it.
Do you see it?
I absentmindedly stuck it here, when moving things around.
Here is the book and it is fantastic.
That’s it for now. My stomach is growling and this morning I’m going to make an avocado smoothie. Avocado is from my bosses’ tree. My Ninja blender is fantastic and I am enjoying using it.
Have a great day and a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady

I am always "losing" some piece of fabric. It is so frustrating to think I know exactly where it is, only to find it's not there. Glad you found your book and I bet you found others you had forgotten about.
Thanks so much for linking to my blog Lorraine! I am so pleased you found this book - it is such a treasure. I have a feeling I could spend a considerable amount of time sitting with a cup of tea enjoying reading in your library!
This did make me chuckle Lorraine. Sometimes I think He just hides things to test us, and to make Him smile as He watches us look for them. Glad you found it!
Wow, that is a seriously large amount of books, I thought I have a lot. But each one is so valuable, and on a wet day, nothing better than a good book ( preferably the one you just found!!), some handwork, cup of coffee, and maybe the fire for warmth and company. I guess your searching turned up others that you might have wondered " Now, where is that one?", so all for a purpose,.Hugs. Jean.
Except for the topic of the book, this COULD have been ME :) I simply LOVE all your books shelves and stacks. Nothing intrigues me more.
And guess what's the name of the town our son and his family live in? Eureka (IL)!
I had to chuckle at your story on finding the book. I do not know how many times I have said "now Lord what did I do with that---" LOL! You have so many great books! I wish you a blessed weekend Lorraine.
Hi, I have the same book and love it. Isn't it funny how we just put something away fast...thinking that we will be able to find it again, only to discover that we have forgotten. This is so frustrating.
I would love to have a cup of tea and look over your library. I'm sure we have many of the same books.

I was in awe of your book collection Lorraine!
Well done in finding it! I was more than a little surprised to note the picture on the cover - the seashell napkins? It's my decorating theme!
A lovely start to your weekend, thinking of you!
Sheesh! I got so lost in the books, looking and reading titles, that I forgot what we were looking for. Glad you found it.
I do that all the time, carefully put something away and then it disappears. Right now I am searching for a wedding invitation that I failed to respond immediately and now invitation and reply card are missing and I have to tell my relatives that the Dotty Old Auntie has done it again.
I had fun seeing the books that you have on your shelves. I had my head cocked reading the titles. I am glad you found the book you were searching for.
I had to mount a similar type of search for my copy of Simple Abundance at the end of April. I wanted to read in it about May Day. Searched my book shelf, and various other stacks of books that I have and couldn't find it. Started the search all over again in the bookshelves. Found it. It had fallen behind the other books on the shelf. I should have been calm like you were during your search. You set a good example for me, Lorraine!
It was fun to see all your book shelves. So many treasures tucked in there too. Fresh avocados! Wow.
I had a good chuckle at this oost Lorraine so many of us have had the exact same experience. You do have a serious number of books...how i would love to spend some time in your library.
Finding something like that is so rewarding.
Nice to have a large book collection but you are right, can be a problem to locate what you want. :)

Tenacious..that's what you are
TENACIOUS
I found that word after hunting through all my bookcases for my dictionary, oh, you say I could have looked on line? MOI? Then why would I need all these BOOKS?
Have a very great weekend.

Books! I love, love, love books! I do believe I could spend forever in your little oasis. You're surrounded by your life's journey and I just love it, Rainey . . . .
And I thought I had a lot of books!
It is so wonderful when the Lord helps us even in those little request that we have for him.
Now what are you going to embroider?
Oh I am so glad you found it! I hate that when I just know something is hiding. :) Thanks for your Mom's Day happy wishes. Kit
Hi Lorraine
Sometimes I think books grow legs and go walking from place to place and hide just to tease you. So glad you found that superb embroidery book. It looks so gorgeous.
Thanks for your sweet comment - so appreciated too.
Hope you are going well!
Hugs,
Suzy

How lucky.........and avocado tree!! I love avocado! I have a book that is almost like this one. I love seeing your library collections. There is nothing better than books!
Glad you found it! Love all of your books!!
Isn't it fun to realize you already have it and was able to find it? What wonderful books you have! Oh how nice it must be to settle in at your home with a nice cappuccino or a cup of tea and a book...sigh!
I alsways laugh when I'm looking for something and find it --it seems--in the last spot I looked. BUT--being persistent helps.... That's what God wants from us. Don't give up... Keep searching!!!! Glad you found it. Eureka!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
My husband often tells me I spend more time looking than I do doing.
He is probably right.....and I thought I had a lot of books! You have me beat considerably. I don't use my books which are mostly on gardening since I discovered the internet.
Have a wonderful week and I hope you get some rain!
I love all your books and the little paintings.
My daughter convinced me to buy a Ninja blender and I absolutely love it. How did I ever get by without it? :) Glad you found your book. Nothing says "home" quite like a big tall bookshelf crammed with well-loved books.
Not-finding-something can be so frustrating! Sometimes it's not so bad, if I'm not in a hurry and I'm enjoying the hunt. I LOVE your book nook/alcove room. How sweet! Great place to relax and read. Glad you found it :)
What a fun post, Lorraine! I enjoyed seeing your nooks and crannies. I used to embroider when I was in high school, and maybe when I was a young adult. I also remember knitting slippers after learning how to in school. I don't think I have the time to do it now, but maybe I could find some some time. Hey, I just remembered that somewhere in this house is a sack with dish towels that I was going to embroider, but when I found out I had to hem them, or cut them to make them even, I didn't proceed with it. I may also have a pillow case that I started but didn't finish.
