Good morning Folks ~ It’s Friday here where I am. I hope you all have a lovely cay and weekend. It’s a new day, may I rejoice and be glad in it.
My prayer for the day:
***
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Psa 143:8

Here are some of God’s gifts that I am thankful for.
Alamo vine
Ground orchids
Hibiscus
Queen Crepe Myrtle
Royal poinciana in the background.
This is my view out the ‘scullery’ window as I wash dishes.
More sunflowers
Unknown orchids.
Vanda orchid ‘Miss Joachuim’.
‘Prosperity’ roses
Unknown rose with a beautiful lavender color and a rich rose scent.
Another unknown rose.
Sunrise the other morning.
Sometimes God’s colors in the sky just make me gasp.
This was one of those times.
I’ve been working on clearing out ‘storage’ in our bedroom. Am making forward progress and that feels great. Yesterday I cooked a chicken, minus the breasts in the crockpot and the aroma filled the cottage and made me feel content and hungry. I also baked a loaf of banana bread with coconut, sunflower seeds and craisins added to the mix. The chicken breast will be made into a spicy Thai dish.
We had a little rain yesterday as a thunderstorm passed over, and I and the gardens are thankful for the rain.
This morning I was listening to some music on you-tube and found a piece I’ve never heard before, but it spoke directly to me at this time.
It is called ‘ The Hurt & The Healer’ by Mercy Me.
May we all grow in God’s grace and tender mercies.

What a fabulous view you have out your scullery window. That blooming Poinciana looks spectacular. Your unknown Orchids are wonderful, and I love that Alamo Vine bloom.
My Ground Orchids are just waking from their dormancy at the moment, and I'm so looking forward to seeing their gorgeous blooms again.
It was terrific seeing those beautiful sunrise colours. We've been seeing some outstanding sunrises here too.
I loved the song too, by the way.
Hi Lorraine,
What a glorious day you posted! Sending you lots of good wishes for a wonderful weekend full of love and content in your heart. And for every new day to bring you strength and courage to accomplish what you never thought you could! Keep up the great work!
Best wishes,
Sheri
Your orchids are looking so beautiful Lorraine. You have the touch. I like your Royal poinciana. How lovely it looks all in bloom. I have never heard of an Alamo vine. I love the bloom. Have a wonderful weekend.
I thought I did a comment, if not here it is. Lovely view from the window, and your flower pics, that orchid one is superb. Take care, greetings from Jean.p.s. is it still so hot at your place? we are having frosts almost every morning, about 2 Celsius earlier.
wow! That sky's color was aMAZing! And I enjoy the view out of your scullery window (and love using the word "scullery", too).
As usual, the photos of your beautiful blooms bless me.
I admire your industry and accomplishments, Lorraine. And yes to growth in God's grace and mercy ♥
We had a huge poinciana here in the tropics many years ago, and discovered I was badly allergic to the leaves!
Wishing you a peaceful weekend Lorraine.
Your flowers are just beautiful!!! They make me smile every time!
Have a great weekend!
Daily God gives us so much beauty to enjoy. Have a wonderful weekend.
As normal lovely flower photos and your pictures of the sunrise I hope bought you a start to a perfect day. hope you are now feeling a bit better xx
Such beauty at your place. Color, color, color!
I think that the beautiful sunrises are gifts for getting up so early...
Your view is delish...as much as the food sounds so good.
Hugs to you, hope you are well.

Very pretty blooms but the Orchids are always so beautiful!

The sunrise is so beautiful, and your orchids are just amazing!
What a beautiful view out the scullery window. I love the sky shots.....something I cannot do at all!
You are setting a good example for us all by cooking so well for just one. The food planned sounds wonderful.
Judging by the plants and trees which are flourishing at your place, I'm guessing we share a similar climate. Although winter here we as yet haven't had a frost this season. Our summers are hot and humid also with autumn bringing relief.
Love this dear Lorraine,
Just trying to work my way through shingles. Catching up with old friends on their blogs.
Sending love and thanks for this beautiful stroll.

Hi Lorraine, I love your prayer and lovely things that you are thankful for.
You've created a beautiful Garden of Eden with flowers and whimsical style- what a joy it is to see ~:)
be well n be happy,
Hugs
Such a beautiful view out your window and yes, nothing can paint a picture like the heavens above! I normally hate the summer humidity but with lots of rain thus far, I am kind of enjoying summer this year. That is rare for us as we are normally under drought conditions here in my area of GA. I have decided to start mowing in twos instead of trying to do it all in one swoop! I mow half the lawn then come inside for a long drink and cool off before finishing up the job. Keeps those headaches at bay. I have been a good girl and have not visited any garden centers this summer. I just can no longer add things this time of year and tend them. I am OK with it as I remind myself of the humidity in the air.... Your hot tub looks wonderful for soothing away the aches and pains! We have a new pool and a splash after yard work/play is wonderful for a cool down...
What a wonderful find of the bentwood rocker pic! I am finding that I am happy with less things in my life. The Saints Motto of "Less is More" is starting to take hold of me...
Happy Gardening...
Lovely, Lorraine, all of it. I just realized as I read/caught up on your last few posts that you remind me of my aunt Laurie. You two pass your days so similarly, gardening and cooking and baking and sorting. Love to you, and I hope you have a relaxing weekend. ♥
Hi Flowerlady, My aunt who lives in central Florida said she has had rain every day for two weeks! She is not too happy about it but I say lucky anyone who gets rain, though we've had a good summer. Ah your chicken filling the cottage sounds so comfortable. Enjoy your weekend and the holiday!
your orchids are truly lovely!
