Thank you

Good evening Folks,

Hope you had a great beginning to spring, although I've read that some of you are still getting snow. Hang in there.

I want to thank all of you for your kind bday wishes. I had a lovely day spent with DH and enjoyed making sherried beef in the crockpot, and a cream cheese blueberry pie. I will post recipes in a later post.

We've been lifting some 'heavy' stuff lately, and I ended up with a pinched nerve, or whatever it is, in my right back hip area, so that last night it was miserable to sleep. But as yesterday it got progressively worse, today it has gotten progressively better. I am thankful.

I've been reading blog posts and one that touched me today was this one from Rene at Miss Gracie's House. I love her blog and I love her. She's graceful, her style is lovely and gentle and I come away feeling blessed and inspired. I can relate to needing to declutter. We all have stuff laying around or hidden away, that needs to be dealt with.

We are all humans with our frailties, we all have our ups and downs, we are all alike more than we know. None of us are perfect. We all have dreams, desires, feelings. We live different lives, and each of our lives are unique. We live in different homes, areas of the world, with different amounts of money, yet, we are all related, living our lives as best we can.

That's it for now. I'm going to go get horizontal to relax and read before sleep. Tomorrow will be a new day.

***

Give us Lord, a bit o' sun,

A bit o' work and a bit o' fun;

Give us all in the struggle and sputter

Our daily bread and a bit o' butter.

From an inn in Lancaster, England

I missed your birthday. Hope it was a great one. Let me know when those gardenias bloom. I hope they're as nice as you remember.

Hi Flowerlady...So sorry to hear about your pinched nerve. I do hope it will continue to get better for you. And, thanks for sharing one of your favorite blogs with us. I'm headed over there now because I need to do some serious decluttering. Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Flower Lady, Happy belated BIRTHDAY! I hope you are feeling much better already. What you said in this post is really true. So glad our paths met and thank you very much for being part of my 'book of life'. I am glad to know you even though we are half the globe across. May God bless you and DH and family!

Your thoughts today ring so true! What a wonderful thing it is for all of us with a love of dirt to be able to bond and share our experiences. Hope that pinched nerve settles down..I've had that happen more times than I can count, it's so painful! Jenni

FlowerLady, I had twinges of that same thing but on the left side. I was shoveling manure compost at the time and needed to finish, so I applied Capsaicin roll-on very liberally. I knew in short order that the area would be HOT, and it was. Capsaicin (red pepper) works by distracting the nerve endings with the heat. I was able to go back to shoveling and twisting my back in a bent over position with no pain in about 20 minutes. You do have to be careful not to get it on your fingers and then rub your eyes. It doesn't wash off very well either which is good, because it reactivates for a few days in the shower or with exertion (sweat). Hope you're feeling better soon.

I am so sorry about your pinched nerve, I hope it gets better and you can get more rest. A big tree came down in our yard, and we have a big pile of chips that I have been spreading as mulch. I am so sore, everything hurts. Oh well, that's part of gardening too.

Your birthday sounds like my favorite kind, quiet with good food and someone you love.

I have been thinking a lot about cheesecake lately! I will be looking forward to your recipes.

If your pain might be sacroiliac instead of hip like mine was, the specialist's advice was stay off your feet as much as possible until it passes. Pretty simple advice, but a little hard to do.

The new art work is beautiful!

Oh yes, we are all so different and no one person is perfect. The beauty of humans perhaps. I must check out that post now.

Sorry to hear you are not well, but hope you are getting better everyday. Do rest and avoid lifting heavy stuff at our age since our muscles are not that flexible anymore. Nice meeting you through this blogosphere, knowing a little about you and your life over there.Happy Belated Birthday and take care of yourself..
