Flowers, Laundry tip, next embroidery piece

Good afternoon. It is another hot and humid day. Right now the weather page says it's 92, but feels like it is 111. I was out this morning mowing, weeding, planting, trimming. Got a load of laundry washed and hung out, just brought it in. While I was doing all that, the bread machine was making a loaf of garlic/Italian herb bread, so that the place smelled yummy when I came in.

The laundry tip is one I tried the first time the other day with a load of white laundry. The tip is add 1/2 c. white vinegar to your final rinse as a fabric softener. It works and your laundry does not smell like vinegar either. It's definitely much cheaper than fabric softener, something I've not bought in many, many years. I really enjoy using my homemade powder laundry detergent and now the vinegar as a softener.

It's about time for a nap, but here are a few pictures.

Here is a piece of paint chip on our jacuzzi deck, from pressure cleaning the area the other day. I love hearts, and they just pop out at me sometimes. I didn't save this one except as a picture. :-)

Here we have the lovely Pandora vine, Pandorea jasminoides

The next two pictures are of our Queen Crepe. I think we've had her three years now. These are her first blooms this year.

Here is my next embroidery piece of a Zebra longwing. It's from one of my own photos, and I'll be adding hamelia paten blooms too.

That's it for now. I hope you are all keeping cool, and are having a nice day.

I use vinegar to every load. If some wet clothes get musty it is about the only thing that will take the smell out. Love your embroidery piece. You do such nice work. Better stay in the house today...111 does sound a wee bit too warm.

Pandorais is beautiful. I haven't tried the vinegar in the wash. I'll have to give it a try. Can't wait to see the finished piece. Have a good nap and day. Becca

They say the humidity is wonderful for your skin. We actually live in a semi-desert climate here in the center of Alberta. I always find that strange but it is incredibly dry here. We need humidifiers in rooms and on our furnace to get the air even a little bit of humidity in it.

I just love your garden. It looks so inviting and so comforting. I'll just have to pretend I'm sitting in the shade and enjoying it.

I've heard of using vinegar, but I admit havent tried it because of fear of the smell. I will give it a try. I too made the home made powder laundry detergent. It smells so good!

Its raining AGAIN here and only about 79.

You are very productive on these hot sunny days. All I want to do is stay inside. Vinegar seems to whiten our white clothes, too. I love the idea of homemade laundry detergent...what's your recipe? Your queen crape is a beautiful color.

Your post always makes me thinking what the life is about. It is those little things in the life make us feel happy and comfory, doing the laundry, smell the fresh baked bread, and of course those beautiful flowers in the garden you discovered during the walk! Have a nice cool summer!

Send me half your hot weather. We're sitting in a misty 50 degree day and could use some sunshine! I, too, use vinegar on white and towel loads when washing. Homemade laundry soap is so economical and easy to make ... I like that the packaging the ingredients come in are all bio-degradable .. no plastic jugs! Today I posted a jelly recipe made from wild rose petals ... so good on toast.

I just had my nap! Enjoy yours.

Great tip on the white vinegar. I keep lots on hand for mopping the wood flooring...now I will try it on the laundry (correction: my DH will try it; he is the laundry man in our house).

Gorgeous blooms.

Bread sound wonderful.
