Alamo Vine - Convolvuoaceae Ipomoea sinuata

Good afternoon Friends ~ Here it is the end of another week. Time sure is zipping on by. It is a nice 76 degrees right now. It's partly cloudy and breezy, coming from the east. I worked outside some yesterday and again this morning.

Below is a wonderful, perennial morning glory vine, a native of TX. It is called Alamo vine, and it is pictured with a flower of the blue pea vine. Both are very easy to grow.

The next two pictures are the leaves and seedpods of the Alamo vine.

They are so beautiful together but I am telling you I love that blue pea vine. Gorgeous!
Okay rub it in on the weather. LOL! I would love 76 degrees but no way. I will just have to look at your beautiful blooms until then.

Ok Flower Lady, I just have to ask this. Is it terribly invasive??? I had one take over a fence and then begin to cover a fruit tree. It put on a kudzu show and scared me, but I LOVED the flowers and the seed pods.

We are 12 degrees today and a negative 3 tonight, I really think I need to move to your peninsula to warm up. The colors in that flowers are so rich and pure. I have never heard of the alama but it reminds me of a small hibiscus. Beautiful.

Those are just lovely together. Blue and white so pretty! It looks like a very nice plant combo all the way around from pods to leaves and flowers. So nice to see you enjoying your winter summer.

The white flower looks especially beautiful with the blue Butterfly Pea. I love the leaves and seed pods.

Those are my favorite vines! I love the seed pods of the Alamo vine - some folks here also call "wood rose".

I took my pea vine (potted) into my house to keep it warm. Hope it is just "resting" as it did last winter.

Very sweet combination... but you grabbed me with the 76 degrees!! Seventy six degrees ... flowers blooming... no I am not envious... you cannot have my 2 degrees with a wind chill of -12! So there! Did I mention how lovely I think the leaves of your Alamo vine are ... I meant to. Very nice photos!! Beautiful blooms too. ;>)
