Butterfly Lessons

******

Oh how I love to watch the butterflies.

Flitting about on wings powered by the sun's warm rays.

From flower to flower by the hour,

they sip the nectar that sustains them in their flight.

God says,

Take heed my child, as you watch these 'flying flowers'.

See how they gently, unfearingly go about their way.

They are in my care,

as you are,

even 'more' than they.

Love them all, but especially the Zebra Longwings (Heliconius). I've not seen them here in several years, yet Gulf Frits abound and they use the same host.

I have a framed photo of a Zebra Longwing on red pentas by my bed, a gift from somebody who had no idea how much I would like it.

Good morning and thank you for visiting, enjoying and your comments.

Jean ~ I love the Zebra Longwings also. They are our state butterfly. We have lots of Gulf frits too. Some are harder than others to get pictures of. I bet that framed picture of a Zebra Longwing on red pentas is pretty.

Catherine ~ Gardening is definitely medicine, for heart, body and soul. It can be a great workout, soothing, and fascinating.

Marla ~ Thank you.

May you all have a lovely weekend. Spring will be where your are before you know it.

Are those all butterflies in your garden?

You have some different species than we have up here in NC. Lovely photographs.

Hi Flowerlady,
Those pics are so very crisp and clear! All the better to see your lovely flowers and butterflies. I wonder if it's your camera, or your skill at focussing the camera?

Thank you all for you comments.

Sweetbay ~ Yes, those butterflies are all in our gardens. We have a few more also.

Sue ~ Some of those are taken with my old Sony floppy disk camera, and some are taken with my new Canon Powershot that I got last year.

Tricia ~ Butterflies are amazing, beautiful creatures. They make me feel relaxed and thankful for the many blessings big and small in my life.
