Starting to decorate

Hello Folks ~ Low temp this morning 65 and real feel was 61. It has felt good all day having cooler temps. Right now at 5:46 pm EST it is 70 real feel 66. Tonight it is supposed to get down into the 50's. YAY!!

Thank you all for kind words of encouragement on my last post. My heart was blessed.

This morning I went out early to Walmart to get one item, and ended up getting some Christmas bits and pieces. I had the idea of 'purple' and found pieces but had no idea what I was going to do with them exactly. After I got home, an idea came to mind and I started acting on it.

As I was editing photos, I realized I should go back to Walmart for 2 more of the purple poinsettias. Here is the tree as it is now. I also need some kind of lighting, I need to see what I have in my stash of lights from last year. I either need something overhead to make it be lit up, of string lights.

This is after I copied and pasted on two more of the flowers. Makes a difference. Oooops, I see another adjustment I need to make looking at this photo now.

Here are some artsy pictures. This was the last piece I picked out and it made me laugh with joy.

Here is one of the two purple hummers, they did not have feathers.

 Here is the other one.

One of three purple poinsettias.

Here is another one. You can see the glittery spirals, 20 to the box, but I actually got 23. ;-)

Next is an unknown red rose that has a wonderful rosey scent.

And, I'm happy to say that when Miss Bea saw her new robe she broke out into a smile and said "I love it". I asked her if I could take a picture of her in it to post on my blog to share with you  and she said yes. She is a dear and we both feel God led us to each other when we needed each other.

Ok, that's it for now. It is really hard to believe that the holidays are so close. Enjoy all of the preparations, good times with family and friends and be thankful.

Hi Lorraine. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to answer your visit about my birthday. I have been busy getting ready for Thanksgiving ad I can't wait to get started on Christmas. Your picture is so pretty. I love the purple flowers and the hummers. All so pretty. I thought that red rose was faux at first glance, I thought the dew spots were sequins or glitter. Wow, that is really beautiful. Oh, Miss Bea is so cute. I love her pose in her new robe. Tell her for me that she looks beautiful..Happy Weekend my friend..xxoJudy

So much beauty on this post. I love your tree print and the additions you have made. It is so pretty, I couldn't stop looking at the purple hummingbirds on it.

Your roses are gorgeous. The sparkle of the rain drops was perfect. We've had our first winter temperatures 15 degrees here so all of my roses were frozen right on the stems and are turning brown now. I already miss them.

Miss Bea is a beauty, too, with her sweet smile and pretty robe.

Fantastic idea for a Christmas tree! I think, if I lived in a hot climate, why would I decorate as though I'm in the north? But I do love northern landscapes and it's difficult to picture myself celebrating Christmas with pineapples and bananas...I'm native to El Salvador, though, so I do occasionally fantasize with it. And I know it would be a fun and creative opportunity to dismantle my own fixed notions of what Christmas should look like, which have nothing to do with its true meaning-- ANYWAY-- I sure ramble on! You did a great job with your creation and the feathered hummingbird is the best! I'm inspired to do something special about the house, now. Bea does look cozy in her robe, a great find! All the best, Lorraine!

Miss Bea is such a pretty lady. So glad that she loves her new robe. She looks great wearing it.

I smiled to see the photo of your Beloved. I have a similar photo of mine. There’s something about the raised hand as if in goodbye for now.

Beautiful tree! How clever you are, it takes an artist to put together
the lovely decorations that you have made. I enjoyed seeing the red
rose beside your DH's photo with the heart shape leaves in the frame.

What perfect decor for your sweet Plum Cottage, Lorraine!! Those hummingbirds would make me smile too! I have a large gold glittery peacock on a clip that my daughter bought me years ago at one of the Newport, RI mansions - I keep it clipped year round on a mirror in my bedroom because it makes me smile!
