Hassles and much to be thankful for

Hi Folks ~ just a quick note to let you know I'm still here. Thank you for your kind comments and thank you to new commenters.

Right now, I'm sitting here sweating as I'm waiting for an a.c. man to call and come over. Water is dripping on the inside of house from window a.c. unit. This happened a couple of weeks ago. I've sucked out water with a turkey baster, used pure vinegar for the orange sludge, bought those a.c. tablets for dissolving the sludge buildup, worked for about a week, now leaking again. No a.c. last night, just a ceiling fan and a pedestal fan, same today, reason for sweating. I pray he can come today. At least it's been cloudy today, but still very warm and humid. Windows are closed to keep heat and humidity out.

A week ago I came home to my modem back up battery blinking like crazy.  Tried a new battery, that didn't work. Took battery back, they said I needed a new unit. ATT does not sell or repair them in the local little stores. I ended up calling ATT and I need a new modem as I no longer have a land line, bypassing the back up battery unit. So, they sent me one, and I was intimidated with the instructions even though they said easy peasy. Well, this morning, I finally got brave and did what I thought was right, and after a 15 minute wait, I tried to get online, and YAY, it worked. I was thankful and thrilled, and it WAS easy peasy.

There have been other hassles, but these two were the major ones.

I still have much to be thankful for, birdsong, colors and scents from the gardens, butterflies, food to eat, clean water, a roof over my head, a nice bed to sleep in and much more.  All gifts from my heavenly Father.

I can't imagine being in that heat and humidity without a/c. Hope you can get that repaired quickly. Love all the beautiful flowers.

I think our Father allows these inconveniences in our life to keep us aware of our dependence upon Him and the many blessings that He bestows. I appreciate the A/C on hot days, too, and think of how my grandmother's generation must have felt raising a family in the days before air conditioners, and even electric fans. They didn't know anything different. Love your flowers, as always. Hugs, Nancy

We have been in a season of breakdowns as well, causing travel to NC two times this month already! But God is good to provide us with a home, transportation, food etc. I'm thankful for His blessings!
Your Irises are lovely, as are all the flowers. My roses are blooming here in VA. They're very pretty but two of the bushes are scentless, which makes me sad. :(

Thinking of you and hoping you are sitting with your feet up in a nice cool air conditioned house!

Yay for internet! I go crazy when mine is down. That must be horrible with no AC. I hope it gets fixed soon! Love, KK

We are outrageously hot here too :( So very thankful for AC. I hope yours is repaired soon! I wondered yesterday about people living right here in our county 75 years ago -- how they coped with the infernal heat! How they lived without electricity and refrigeration. But they did. As you say - there are compensations too, like birdsong, sunsets, cool breezes in the early morning. Stillness and peace.
