Good evening Friends ~ I hope you all had a nice weekend, some of you have gotten later winter weather, frigid temps, winds and more snow. For some of us, we are starting to feel early summer temps and down here, more humidity.
The last couple of days I’ve been viewing roses on pinterest and made my own board titled “Roses that speak to my heart”. I have been pinning roses and then took a look at my freshly created board and WOW. In eternity, I hope to have a beautiful rose garden where there will be no disease for them, if they have thorns, we will not be pricked. Just had an idea, maybe they won’t have thorns because they won’t be needed to protect them from predators.

I really ‘love’ roses. They just do something to me that I can’t really describe. I am so thankful to my DH for all of the roses I have grown, am growing and will grow.
Here are some favorites from 2012.
That’s it for now. My heart is full.

Every one is so beautiful, if I had to choose, sprinkled with raindrops would be my #1. Enjoy your flowers, they are so truly a wonderful part of your life and your blog, and to share with us is so special.
There is such a purity to roses. All it takes is one bloom in a picture, or vase. Almost more beauty than the soul can comprehend. Yours certainly flourish in your care, Lorraine.
You are speaking my language sweet friend! You have such beautiful roses in your garden and I went back and read your last post and loved the ones you shared in it. I don't think I could have enough roses, do you? I love your idea of a Heavenly rose garden, maybe we could have every variety in the world. I think I would love to come and visit yours there :) I can't wait to see more of your blooms this garden season Lorraine!
Have a wonderful week!
sending hugs...
They are all so pretty! I can't wait for my roses to start. One of my bushes has little green leaves just starting. Yay! Thanks for voting for my Grand Kitty. :) Kit
Beautiful Roses, Rainey! I don't have any in my yard but plan on adding some as soon as I get the yard straightened up! Bless You, Cindy xo
I do love roses too, and your collection is lovely. Years ago I wrote an article on Victorian roses for Victorian Homes magazine; the old fashioned roses noted for their scents are favorites of mine. I like your idea of roses in heaven needing no thorns.
I will be coming to wander among the roses in your heavenly garden, when we both get there.I love all roses. Thanks for sharing your beauties.
Your roses are beautiful! I love roses too, especially the old-fashioned ones with a lovely scent. Do you grow peonies? They're lovely too, and the way their petals furl reminds me of roses.
I love roses. I had several on one side of the yard years ago until a disease hit them and I lost them all. Now I have one yellow knock out rose in the back yard. She smells so lovely when in bloom.
I am so happy to see these lovely roses! I've always adored them. Fifty some years ago we had shrub roses on our farm and one was pink the other yellow. They had the most divine scent and I would love to have them back again, but they are long gone. I love the look of roses, but they must have the rose fragrance for me to believe they are a true rose! Roses in heaven, but of course!
Thanks for brightening my day!
Oh, I love roses. My mom had so many in her garden growing up, all different colors and varieties. I'm not quite to roses yet, as we don't even have shrubs or flowers. But roses are on my someday list. I WILL have them at some point. I'm thinking next year might be the year I take on roses :)
I feel the same way about roses. They make me feel so happy and excited, and I want to collect as many as I can. I love all your rose pictures, and I love your thoughts about roses in heaven.
Thank you for showing us your beautiful roses. Every year I seem to discover another rose color that really calls out to me. This year it seems to be the white/cream with a touch of pink or salmon. You have some beautiful roses.
Last year I planted a David Austin rose that is called Zephrine Drouhine. It is a climber and amazingly, it is thornless, or nearly so, and grows well in shade. The one I have did not bloom last year, but grew very long healthy canes, and has put out healthy new leaf growth on all of the canes already. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will bloom this year. It is a bright pink rose.
I agree, roses are an exceptional flower. They are at times very trying, but I wouldn't want to have a garden without them. They're truly worth the effort , and you have some gorgeous ones! _Janice
I love roses too and lately my favourites have been the tiny tea roses they sell in the grocery stores - they are so perfect in their tiny buds and leaves - even their little thorns are adorable... I have yellow, a deep brick red and a light mauve one... I am so lucky that they can survide outside and I pick the little flowers all summer long.
You have some very beautiful roses in your yard and I love to see the pictures of them you post!
Isn't it wonderful how something so simple as a flower can lift our spirits and transform our world? Amazing beauties!
THese are all so beautiful / it's daffodils here at the moment ! :)
You have some wonderful roses in your garden and I shall have a look at your Pinterest board too. I'm looking forward to the moment my roses are in bloom again, for now they are just sprouting and I gave them fertilizer today, so just grow now lovely roses.
Regards, Janneke

Such beautiful photos of the gorgeous rose. A lovely post. Temps are unseasonably cold here although they do fluctuate with crazy highs then lows. Even chance of flurries this weekend.
Hello Lorraine! Your roses are so beautiful. I'm sure they feel your love and thrive accordingly. I have similar weather conditions, but I have a lot of shade...so haven't found the right place yet for roses here. Maybe I can put one in a pot and move it around to follow the sun!
Such lovely lovely roses Lorraine! They really do speak to you don't they? The most beautiful of all flowers I think! Thank you for sharing these beauties with us!
