A start in decorating

Good morning Folks ~ It is another gray day here with more rain predicted today and over the next few days. It rained most of the day yesterday and some of the day before, which was a good time to get Christmas decorations out of the attic.  I decided my main tree would be the ‘Charlie Brown’ tree we found curbside in Sept. 2012. I put a small one in my space here where I create and blog, and there’s a tiny one in the bedroom.

I made up collages using PicMonkey. The top two pics are of the one in my space. The bottom right is the CB tree, and bottom left the one in the bedroom.

A widow friend of mine, dear Sue D., who has been a widow longer than me,  gave me this lovely ornament my second Christmas without my DH.  It is oh so true.

I want to thank all of you how have been following me through the years, for your friendship, love, hugs, prayers, your encouragement. You are a blessing to me. You have made this widow walk not so lonely.  I thank God for you, and am thankful that He is with me and never leaves me. He is my strength when I am weak. He has sent all of you into my life.

I will be setting up the nativity and heavenly host in the next week or so.

******

Christmas is a time to remember that God Himself, left His heavenly throne, became a human babe so that one day when the time was right, He would give Himself as a sacrifice for all the sin man has done, keeps doing, and will do until He returns again. Because He rose from the grave, we have been promised life eternal when we believe in Him and what He has done. He loves each and every one of us, no matter what we have done. His love and mercy covers us and washes us clean. We become spotless and will live forever with Him, where there is no more sin, no pain, no death, no sadness. All will be well.

Until then let us trust Him and thank Him for the gift of every day that He blesses us with.

Love, hugs & prayers ~ FlowerLady

Dear Lorraine, it looks very christmassy in your home already! I really admire you for putting up three trees. I looked at your previous post, too, and your new little black kitten really cracked me up. As far as I remember she was a feral cat and now see how much she has warmed up to you already. Simply wonderful!
Wishing you a lovely 2nd Advent!
Warm regards,
Christina

First of all, we should also thank you for being a friend to all of us. Despite your loss, you have always had time to visit blogs and leave a kind comment. You've withstood with courage and faith. You have been an inspiration in your journey through sadness and grief. SO, Thank YOU, Lorraine, for hanging in there, for continuing your blogging life, and for all the insight you've given us into what the loss of a dear one really entails in one's life. And now, here you are, decorating for Christmas in a grand style with kitties in tow. You are quite a remarkable woman.
P>S> I adore your selfies and Miss Rosie looks pretty cute too.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house, Rainey! I never noticed the awesome woodwork you had before. You really put us to shame, we only have one tabletop tree,

Your decorating is beautiful!1 It's kind of slow getting into the mood this year. Our temps are usually cold and snowy already, but we hare in the 50s everyday, for which I am grateful. Our tree went up over the weekend which brought Bah Humbug from Terry who says he hates Christmas but really doesn't.

Lorraine, your home is very festive with the Christmas decorations. Your keepsakes of ornaments are beautiful! You are an inspiration to all of us that read your blog - I can tell by all the lovely comments how each one appreciates all that you go through and how you have the strength to face each challenge. I suffer from depression and find your posts very uplifting. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Have a lovely week!

What beautiful and memorable Christmas tress that you have Lorraine! I can just imagine all the memories it evokes as you put up your trees, and what a wonderful idea to have a couple in your creative space too! I think I would just get lost in looking at them, and forget about being creative. ;-) Looks lovely, my friend!

I'm very impressed with your collages, Lorraine, and will have to check out PicMonkey. Your home looks very festive! Like mine, your ornaments each have a story to tell. It's like revisiting with old friends as you take each one out of the box. Blessing, dear friend. P. x
