Good morning Folks ~ I hope all of you where the temps are cooling down are enjoying the fall season. It is ‘still’ miserable here. Yesterday and this morning the humidity was so heavy, I could only work outside for an hour. I didn’t check yesterday but did today to see about the humidity and this morning it was 86%. After an hour I had had enough. We had thunderstorms yesterday afternoon with very heavy rains. More rain is expected through Friday. Cooler weather is expected in November.
I took some pics this morning. The little weathered sign is to the left of the gate in the following picture.
This is looking through the gate into front patio area. The wall with the flower and stems is the east wall to my little creative space on the inside.
This is taken from inside looking back at the gate.
While I was out there I smelled a wonderful rose scent and lo and behold the bloom on Rose de Rescht had opened. I just love this rose. Thanks again Deb & Charles.
Next are blooms from the Queen Crepe that is on the east side of cottage. This is it’s second blooming this year. There are three clusters of blooms right now.
Next is my revamping project. I laid this little heart patio the beginning of this year. It soon became weed-laden between cracks and all around. I bought some weed barrier cloth this summer for half price from Big Lots but it was too hot and humid to work on this project then. After making the little picket fence section last week, I wanted to tackle this project.
I moved the marble pieces onto the roofing material patio. Weeded and leveled yesterday morning.
This is how it looks now. I still need to tweak it a bit. I want to put the weed cloth under the birdbath too. Or I may move birdbath, haven’t decided yet. It was too humid and miserable to think that far, much less do it this morning.
That’s it for now.

I like your sweet Plum Cottage sign and your heart shaped rock area. I think, as I've read, gardens are a form of autobiography, and yours is very charming.
I love to come here and see the tropical look of your gardens. So different from the manicured yard that I have. I prefer a more natural look, but this is what we have and I am satisfied. My woods is my natural area.
Your little heart shaped place is so pretty. You put your "heart" into everything you do.
Have a nice weekend and find some cool spot to relax,
Balisha
Love your heart bed. That's a great idea and so perfect for your garden. We're having a beautiful day today, but it can get warm working in the sun. Take care!
The sign is perfect, and weed mat, so useful, and under the stones and bird bath, great idea, Take care in that humidity, an hour would be too much for me, cooling breezes are ordered for you today, Hugs, Jean. p.s. another good morning for Hugh, we are so thankful for the improvement, and hope it continues, they gave no guarantee about this, but I have loving, caring, friends.XXX
Very cool! Plum Cottage for a plum cottage...I love it. I also like your heart rocks. You are certainly keeping very busy, while I am only scrubbing paw prints from my utility room :(
Our weather is still warm but cool enough to get out in the garden again. I am enjoying the cooler temps and have been planting pansies to celebrate the arrival of fall. Your creativity is inspiring, I love your stone heart.
I always, always enjoy a stroll around your pretty garden Lorraine, but I'm in the airconditioning doing it!
I'm sure I must be your most ardent understand-er of the humidity and heat!
We are heading at a fast rate of knots into the worst of ours.......

I love your sign! I like your heart shaped rock area even better with the darker rock border around it. I'm sorry you are still suffering with the humidity. It has finally cooled down here - it has almost made it worth suffering through the summer. Hope you get some better weather in November.
Lovely pictures. That heat and humidity sounds depressing and I don't often allow the weather to get me down, but that would do it.
The new heart shape with the stones is great! Looking good with your revamping.
I love the heart shaped patio and your revamping really makes it stand out. I have been spending about an hour in my garden weeding too before the worst of the hot humid weather takes over.
The mossy border you're adding to the patio is really pretty. The whole design is so nice!
I always enjoy seeing your projects, Lorraine. There is a never ending list to accomplish in the garden, but that's what makes it so rewarding. It's good physical exercise and it is what we are passionate about. Your heart looks so sweet made with the variety of stones you chose. I hope you get cooler after the rains clear. Hugs~ Meems
I love the heart. Be careful about working in the humid weather. We are having cold weather here. It went from summer to winter. They are calling for fall like temps over the weekend and next week.
Your talents never cease to amaze me! How beautiful are those stones in the shape of a heart! Beautiful!!! I too think your "Plum Cottage" sign is adorable.
Hope some of our cooler weather pushed down south for you soon. We have had some gorgeous fall weather the last week.
Rose de rescht looks lovely. Nothing like a fragrant rose!
The heart patio looks so nice now! Your center courtyard there is really neat with all of the beautiful plants and greenery everywhere!
I just love your sign and beautiful heart shaped rock garden! It has been rainy and cool here in Texas. Hope that you are having more pleasant weather!
This is a very charming place! You created every single detail with a hughe amount of love!
Beautiful
Elisabeth
Your little heart shape is a lovely place....much better now without the weeds. Be careful not to overdo it lorraine. The perfume from your rose must be wonderful.
Oh, I'm very sorry it is STILL so yucky down there! Sigh. I know it's hard waiting for cool temps. I just read Jody's blog -- she is a rancher's wife in Montana, so she has the opposite trouble, and it always talking about making sure she has enough Vit. D through the winter :) But you soldier on anyway, and get out there and work in your glorious garden! I'm still trying to figure out the layout of your property, with all its interesting spots, buildings, fences, gates, etc. Sure is lovely to visit! Stay cool, and welcome those cooler days when they come along!
I am glad you kept the heart patio. I was afraid you were going to eliminate it. This is such an improvement and should ease your work load.
I hope your humidity gets better and the weather gets cooler. November is almost here!
Wow, I love your yard, it looks almost fairy tale-ish! Great job!
Sweet! Every bit of it from rocks to roses. Your personality is reflected in everything your hand touches, Lorraine. Have a pleasant weekend. Hope you get some relief from the humidity. We've been having some fine weather with a few more similar days forecast up here...
So delinquent in coming down south (figuratively)! Now I know why! You are in the midst of the ickies and stickies! Your heart is much more robust! It looks wonderful as does your gardens, FL! Hope you have a great weekend! xo from The Herbal Husband and me!
Your garden is beautiful as usual! What a lovely place to contemplate the day!
I do love that sign! I don't have any....
The view in the 3rd picture is very, very nice! Have a great weekend, Lorraine!
So we both are having thunderstorms - ours as spring heats up. Tomorrow's forecast is for over 100f here- the children are enjoying swimming in the pool!
I always enjoy visiting your gardens! Love your plum cottage sign and your heart shaped redo is super great! Blessings, Cindy
I am so glad that the rose is bringing you happiness and making your yard smell good! Your yard so fun and interesting ~ I would love to spend an afternoon there. It is still very warm here in Arizona too - sure am hoping for a cool down soon. Have a happy week!
Oh my
I love visiting you.
Again
You are super talented.
Wish you lived near me
and could give me some ideas.
Love the heart
made out of stones :)
Lovely project. So satisfying to create the new and unique. Hope the humidity abates soon!
The picture of the gate is very nice, as are all the others.
You have such a lovely place, very magical looking.
It's cool here in Texas with rain on it's way, even had to turn on the heat a few nights ago!
Thanks for visiting my blog, crafting has taken over my life so blogging is kinda hit and miss.
I hope things cool off for you soon.
Terry
