Mostly Macros

Good morning Friends ~ Here it is another Friday.  Time is zipping right along.

We had thunderstorms yesterday afternoon, which has given us another blast of cool air and for that I am grateful.  It is supposed to get down to 53 and feel like 48 tonight.

This post is filled with mainly macros, hence the title of this post.

First is not macro though and  is a photo of our big palm with the morning sky behind.

Ok, here we go for the blooms.

On November 17 2012, when my dear husband was ill and a couple of weeks before he went to his heavenly home, I came home from work and as always headed straight for the bedroom to check on him. He said to me, “The verse of the day is, ‘Cast all your care upon Him’.

That verse is still a verse for me each and every day. The Him in this verse is God, and the rest of the verse says, ‘for He careth for you’.

I had this in my mind to write before I headed off to work this morning, but didn’t have time to get it all done.

This verse was perfect for me today because when I got to work I found out that my friends next door had been hit by thieves right after I left yesterday afternoon. They have two shops next to each other, and she had gone to the other shop where her husband and nephew were, leaving her purse sitting in her desk chair, which is behind a partition. We were having stormy weather then too and she was in the other shop a few minutes. When she got back her purse was gone, her lap top computer and their two cell phones.  They called the cops and they came to get the info. There is a surveillance camera up on a building across the street and later the cops called to say they had seen a vehicle and a couple that looked suspicious to them. I also had a suspicious message left on the answering machine where I work asking what time we close, and reported it to my friends and they told the cops.  They told my friend to come over to see if she could get the number off my phone there, she did, so maybe that will help in the case.

I do not want to be scared to go to work. This news is one of the cares that came into my life that I am to cast upon Him. Worry accomplishes nothing!

Say a prayer for my friends that things will work out for them with this. They got in touch with their bank, credit card people etc. The husband said it’s awful because they feel so violated. They were both exhausted when I left this afternoon, from the stress of it all.

Love and hugs to all of you,

FlowerLady

How sad about the theft at work... There are so many crazy people out there. Just be careful --and lock up everything.

Beautiful flowers today.. I love seeing your flowers this time of year especially since we are still drab up here. Hibiscus is still one of my fav's.

Thanks for wishing George a Happy Birthday.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sorry for your friends. One needs to always be aware I guess.
Miss T looks so cute that way. I love macro flower photos too. Sometimes, I plant to get these cool shots to show how an area looks and before I know it, I have 20 close ups of flowers. Ha!

What a wonderful group of flowers! You have so much color and variety. Some of these I've never heard of. My favorite shots are those of Miss T:) What a cutie. I'm sorry to hear about the robbery. I hope this doesn't make you fearful. You are quoting my favorite verse -- I learned it when I was 7 and it's always been my #1 verse. Thanks for sharing it!

Isn't everything just blooming like a dream down here right now??? I am loving looking out my kitchen window these days! All of your blooms are just great!
Sorry to hear of the low down creep/creeps that robbed your friends. They have done all the right things, and I know it will take a while, but things will get back to normal (just losing your trust in people will not)!
It is so nice to have Him to cast our cares upon!
God bless!

Your flowers are so pretty. It is such a shame about your neighbors getting robbed. We were robedb at the last house we lived in and it can be very frightening.

I am a worrywort by nature and you are absolutely correct, it truly accomplishes nothing - but will drain you of your energy.

Beautiful flowers. I especially love the hibiscus. And the photos of Miss T . . . adorable!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,

eli

These opportunists cause so much heartbreak and stress for good people. All I can say is that desperation must lead them to such deeds.
Your floral macros are gorgeous Lorraine, Ms T is obviously used to her comforts (the little sweetie)
and we haven't had any thunderstorms here (yet) but a cyclone (albeit small) is expected to cross the coast nearby on MOn or Tues. so everyone is doing the standard preparations 'just in case'.
Enjoy your weekend dear Lorraine.

Will lift you and your friends before the lord for protection and they find the ones that did this. I pleaed the blood of Jesus over the house and car when I leave keeping us safe.

I so love your photos and the bleeding heart, WOW... that is one lovely plant. I am getting spring fever. My lilies that I dug up and cut apart and planted in the front of the house are coming up so Spring will be here soon. I was watching QVC, they have plants for sale, I look to see what I like then I go to Home Depot or Lowes to see if I can find something like them for my area. I am itching to have a pretty place like you do.

HUGS.

I love the bible verse, Rainey, and how wonderful that Mark quoted it to you, what a remembrance to have.

The flowers in your garden are so beautiful. I can't pick a favorite.

I'm sorry to hear about the theft. I know how violated your friends must feel, it's such an awful emotion to lose trust and be on constant guard. I hope the perpetrators can be caught. If they would turn their ambition and efforts to earning an honest living they would have no need to steal other people's livelihoods.

Hugs to you, dear friend.

There is crime even in this rural area where we live--arrests for drug possession, assaults--the sort of things we used to think were found mostly in cities. A year or so ago there was a spate of break-ins and thefts, oddly enough, most were at the neighborhood Amish homes.
It is bleak today in KY, and while I wouldn't wish to live in FL, your beautiful flowers are a joy.
Thank you for sharing your photos.

I can't tell you how many times this winter that the pictures of your flowers on your blog made winter okay. I love coming over here and seeing all your beautiful blooms.

What a nasty surprise for your neighbors and then that suspicious phone call you got. I hope they get back what was stolen.
I like your flower photos and especially all your blue flowers.

Just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful blooms to view - each and everyone of them! Thank you so much!

I do hope your friends can relax and leave it all up to God. Worry accomplishes nothing which we all know but sometimes hard to practice.

Hugs,
Suzy

What beautiful flowers. I looked at them a few times. What is it about flowers that pick you up and make you feel more cheerful? I'm so sorry about your friends getting their things stolen. It can be a scary experience.

The flowers were a delight to see. We are still very brown here with just a few daffodils up about 4 inches.

I hate to hear about the theft, especially so near you. You have the right attitude; worry gets you nowhere. Just keep your cell handy and report any suspicious people and never leave your purse unattended!

Praying that all will be safe and well. There is only so much we humans can do and for the rest, we can take comfort in knowing that our Creator is on the job. This is how I keep my sanity.

Your flowers are lovely, as always. Last year, I bought and grew the Clerodendrum you have pictured. I brought it inside during our worst cold but I don't know if I was able to save it from extinction. It has the most gorgeous flowers, doesn't it?

Have a great week my friend.

Yes, that is exactly how you feel after a robbery -- violated. And angry. And it's just nasty and offensive. And you feel helpless too. I hope the police are able to help.

Thank you so much for all the luscious flower photos -- you get such good close-up shots! Like that spier wort, with the little "threads" in the center, amazing! I wish I knew so much about flowers and how to get the to grow. Our yard looks like such a boring moonscape. It's a rental house, and there are some trees and established shrubs, but not much that's really pretty. I don't know where to begin!

I am glad you are surrounded by flowers to help brighten days that can get you down. How horrible with your friends break in. I sure hope they caught who ever did it. What wonderful macros you have here. So many flowers I have never seen before the only one that will grow in my areas is the ganzia.
