Blue Sage ~ Eranthemum pulchellum

02-25-blue-sage

I bought this plant many, many, many years ago at a local flea market.

I don’t believe I’ve seen it anywhere for sale.  It is one of my very favorite plants in the garden.  It is evergreen, it roots easily from cuttings, which makes me think I need to root some myself for new plants.

You can read about it at:

Hello..I spent a bit of time trying to find you after seeing one of your comments on a blog. I went to your etsy site..but nothing there..and then I visited another one and it was there that I saw you had lost your husband. I went through that..and I pray I don't have to suffer through that again. I may, but I hope not.
I thought I would see some of your artworks..stitching..but you must not be posting it lately. I'm still looking! :)
From what you say, you must be in warmer climate as I am. Isn't it wonderful we are not freezing like much of the country?
Take good care..

I love this
and blue a favorite.
Wonder if it would do well
in the damp woods :)

That looks so delicate. I love the soft colour and any flower that is easy to grow works for me.

Hi Lorraine, How are you? I love your plant and yes I think you should plant more of it. :) But you see I'm flower and plant-starved right now, as I watch the snowflakes pile up into a giant mess. Actually it's quite lovely. I'm just itching for spring. I hope you're doing well my friend. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

I was reading about this plant, I love blue flowers. I was reading its not so good in cold areas, we get to freezing in the winter so it maynot be so good here... This will be our first planting season here at the new house so I want to put out some flowers. I now know what areas get sun and what parts of the backyard stay shady. I cant wait to get some dirt under my fingernails and feel the sun on my face.

Looks like you have a green thumb!!

That really is pretty and sweet and if you can grow from cuttings, then I'm interested. If it will grow in your area Lorraine, it should be successful here so I'm going to look out for it at my local nursery.
Enjoy your weekend lovely lady.

I'm buried in snow. You really know how to hurt a girl! ;) Actually, when I need a bit of spring--I stop by!

Very pretty blue flower, blue is one of my favorite colors but hard to come by in the garden.

I'm just in from skiing and cold...so cold....but your photo warmed me right up!

Your flower is just beautiufl..so are the leaves. I've never seen one like it. (I meant to comment earlier on it..but got carried away. I do that oftener than I like to admit! :)
Anyway..it's lovely. I can't wait to start planting flowers again..Of course I probably could..and the flowers would not even know it isn't SPRING! But I will wait because CA has been known to suddenly go directly to Winter without passing go!
Hugs,
Mona

There are not many True Blue in color blooming plants out there. This blue is one of them and lucky you to have it in your gardens! Does not do well in my zone or I would be planting one of these. So pretty :-)
