Today we are celebrating 43 years since the day we said I do.
This past month, since DH’s horrible muscle cramping in his neck, and the slow healing that is happening, has made us both love each other more. Marriage is a relationship that is a continual work in progress. Through sickness and health, good times and bad, for richer or poorer.
I’ve got baby back ribs (from the freezer that were on sale a few months ago), in the crockpot. I browned them first in the oven, 15 min. each side, then put them in the crockpot with a jar of hot pepper peach preserves mixed with a bit of cranberry sauce on the top. By the time I get home from work, they should be about ready and smelling wonderful. Potato salad is chilling in the fridge, and I’ve a can of Bush’s Bold and Spicy baked beans to open and heat, and some dinner rolls in the freezer to heat up too. We will start out with a celebratory margarita.
Below are some thoughts on marriage.

Happy anniversary. Love your post. Forty three years is a long time. I should know as we'll celebrate the same year in a couple of months. Sometimes it seems like only yesterday. Hope you have many, many more happy anniversaries together.

I am sorry I missed this when you first posted it. I am terribly behind with my reading.
Congratulations! The love you have for each other comes through very clearly in all your posts. You are my inspiration about marriage.
We have been married 51 years.
Happy Anniversary!! 43 years of love is a beautiful thing. Hope you enjoyed the margarita!:)
Clearly I suck... I've been neglectful of so many things, but I seemed to be overwhelmed (which I usually handle better than this). I haven't forgotten you and promise I will make it up to you soon. You are such a dear. :)
Congratulations! A sewn together marriage - how appropriate that quote is for you. I've been catching up on your posts.
