November blooms

Good morning Folks ~ Sorry for being MIA, and thank you Nell for asking about me. I have been under the weather but am feeling so much better now. Hope all of you are well. Besides a cold/flu bug that dragged me out, from so much coughing my right rib cage area and muscles were sore and strained. Then, I moved a heavy, terra cotta pot by sort of rolling it along and strained my knee so that I was hobbling along with a cane and in pain. Sheesh! My mind still thinks I can do anything, but I can't. I need to ask for help from DH and not think I can handle everything myself, because is reality, I can't, not anymore.

Anyway, here I am. I've been able to get out to do some gardening work and took some pictures the last two mornings. The weather is so enjoyable down here now. Gardens are loving not being blasted by the suns direct rays overhead.

I will look forward to seeing your wintry scenes, since it's not something we see down here. I have enjoyed all the pictures of your fall gardens and colors.

This first picture was taken this morning.

This is St. Francis in my shed's garden.

This is spiderwort with Madagascar periwinkles in the background.

Mm. Laurette Messimy, a real sweet little rose.

This is Golden Sun.

Sweetly scented Frangipani.

Red Ixora blooms in the background,
morning glories midway and a flame vine in the foreground.

This is a close-up of the flame vine.
Someone told me the name of this once,
but I can't remember it right now.
I also have the bright orange one.

This is Duchesse de Brabant.

A cassia.

St. Francis

Shed garden

This is Louis Philippe roses with a bougainvillea the same color.

Another of Duchesse blooms.

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful;
they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.

Look at all the flowers you still have! We have nothing left. All the trees are pretty much bare (like in your first picture). Late fall is not very pretty here.

I'm glad you are on the mend- all your flowers are beautiful -the flame vine is exceptional. Be careful and eat lots of those florida oranges.

Hello FlowerLady,

I am glad you are feeling better - I was wondering where you were too!

Your garden is so beautiful. Isn't it nice to be able to garden all year long?

I'm sorry to hear that bug dragged out. Good to hear you're on the mend now, and able to get out and enjoy the lovely weather.

I love your flowers! Especially your roses. They look wonderful.

Wow it really looks like summer to me down there. At least I know where to go when I get bored of winter. Heheh
St Francis looks terrific in the new spot. He really shines there.

It's amazing, you are having summer while we are soaking in the autumn rain. Your beautiful blooms make me think about spring and summer. Get well soon and take care of yourself!

Good morning everyone and thank you for visiting and leaving your kind comments. I am feeling much better.

Kiki ~ Thank you. St. Francis adds a calming element to the space. Glad you enjoy the music.

Marti ~ Glad you enjoyed.

Debbie ~ We have flowers and foliage year round down here, that's why gardening is never done.

Vicki ~ I love that flame vine also. It is such a lovely pale version of the bright orange one. I don't even know where I got this.

AZPlantLady ~ In a way, it's great to be able to garden all year, but we never get a break. When I let things go for any length of time, it literally turns into a jungle. :-) It is nice having flowers all the time though. They are a joy.

MaryDelle ~ Thank you. I love the roses too.

SweetBay ~ We thought the bug would never end. Then we wondered if I had cracked a rib from all the coughing as that area was in pain for a few days. I took herbs, homeopathic remedies and used an essential oil blend I had made up for pain and I feel so much better. It is a blessing to be able to get out and putter around in the gardens in the lovely weather we are having.

LeSan ~ I'll try to post colorful pictures all winter for you who live in the wintry climes. I love St. Francis in his new spot too.

Tatyana ~ I wish we would get some rain. At least the temperature has cooled down and the humidity is less.

Thanks again everyone for your kind thoughts about my flowers and your get well wishes.

Sorry to hear you have been sick but so glad you are better.

I hear you about needing help! We just had to rehang some shades and curtains in the dining room and DH was enlisted to help stabilize me on the step ladder. His comment was you didn't used to need or want my help..........my have things changed!

First question: What is all the hairy stuff hanging from the tree in the first picture?

Reading all these southern blogs is almost like visiting a different country and hearing a new language. I do enjoy it!

Hi FlowerLady,
I've had a cold or something this week, too. It started out with a sore throat, and then turned into a cold, and my chest has told me I need to use my inhaler for the virus induced asthma.

I know what you mean by not being able to do everything you want. It's good our husbands are willing to help us, even if it's not always when we want it, at least in my case.

I am glad you are on the mend. You sure took some awesome photos! I love all your blooms! I saw that bright yellow flower on someone else's blog recently. It's not one that grows here.
