Good afternoon Friends ~ This morning I worked trimming, and cleaning up things on the front patio. It felt good to be out doing something positive, and it feels good having things look somewhat better.
For the past couple of days I've been watching some new growth on my Confederate Rose bush, grown from seed this year. I do believe they are flower buds and I can hardly wait to see what these flowers look like for real, and as to colors. A lot of you already grow this but for me it is new and I may be pushing the envelope of zones here.
I also made another pizza from scratch tonight.
So, those are some of my little 'joyous moments' from today.

How nice to see this coming so soon on the heels of the Disappointment post. Great big smiles for you!
I think the Confederate Rose will do fine for you. It dies back in the winter here, and rarely blooms until it's cooled off in September. I bet you have blooms all winter unless you get a freeze.
I started mine from seed this year too. No blooms yet, but I'm hopeful for next year. It's a heavy feeder.
Thank you for a great post. I love Orchid trees and their delicate flowers.
Ireland is one of my favorite places in the world and I love the Irish Blessing.
Oops just saw that the post I referred to as "disappointment" was actually titled "depressing."

Wow! You actually grow roses from seed? You really are a gardener!
Jane
Orchid trees are beautiful but I've never seen the dwarf variety. You have a lot of patience growing them, and the roses from seed.
Loved the words of the Irish blessing...I'll add it to my collection.
The conferderate roses are blooming all over the place here in North Florida...pizza sounds yummy!
I have never heard of either one of the flowers but will be glad to see them. We were 41 degrees high today. Our normal is 67 degrees. Being outside was uncomfortable. You are looking very green.
Good morning everyone.
LeSan ~ I had a good morning so had to post something positive after my post about being depressed.
Tom ~ Thanks for the heads up on the Confederate Rose. I keep checking the buds every day, sometimes twice a day. :-) It sure is fun watching things grow from seed. You are a whiz at it and an inspiration.
Azplantlady ~ You are welcome. When I saw that blessing it felt like the right thing to go with the post.
Jane ~ I wish I could grow roses from seed, but I'll leave that to the rosarians. I should have put in the post that Confederate Rose is not a real rose, but a hibiscus. Sorry about that.
Kanak Hagjer ~ I like adding quotes and sayings to my collection too. I am looking forward to seeing my first blooms on the little orchid tree, which is only about 2-3' tall.
Darla ~ I don't even think I've seen them growing around here at all. I'll have to be more on the lookout for them.
Thanks again everyone for all of your comments.
