Morning has broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing, fresh from the Word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the One light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

As Sung by Cat Stevens
Lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon

You are such a morning person. The sunrise is, indeed, a beautiful thing.

What a lovely morning to rise to. I am such a night person that I often...usually always, miss the sunrise. I miss the sunrise.
Beautiful photos, beautiful thought.

Ditto on Cat Stevens album! I love your photos, especially the clouds through the trees.

Thanks for the lyrics. I am bad about hearing the words in songs. I get the first two sentences down and the rest is a blur. That is a very well written song.
Your weather, clouds and trees are so wonderful. I have to visit Florida someday. I saw strange like clouds in Houston many years ago, which were leftover from hurricane clouds. They looked a little like these but very rippled. I really like you music today and thanks for the great shots.

Good morning everyone ~ Thank you again for visiting and your kind comments.

Jane ~ Thank you. When I first went outside, I gasped in delight when I saw the colors so had to come back in for the camera. I don't have that album by CS, but the first two lines of that song pop into my head on certain type of mornings.

asplantlady ~ Thank you. It was a pleasure.

Sweetbay ~ Thank you.

MaryDelle ~ I am a morning person, up early, and most times, ready to get the day going. Not all sunrises look like this one so it was a real treat.

LeSan ~ Thank you. I love seeing and hearing the morning awaken.

Marti ~ Thanks. I like the sun and colors seen through the trees also.

L.D. ~ Don't feel alone. The first two lines of this song is what I remember on some mornings that are nice starting out.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My first visit here. Morning Has Broken is one of my favorite hymns and the Cat Stevens rendition is the best. I came down the aisle on my wedding day to Morning Has Broken. Your photos are outstanding.
