Good morning everyone. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Yesterday morning we went to the distribution center about 3.5 miles from us to pick up our ordered and paid for food boxes from Angel Food Ministries. We had ordered three different boxes. I felt like it was Christmas morning. I had to head on to work, DH took the boxes home and put the goodies away. After supper I set up the table to show the three box loads. The only thing I didn't get right was the apples were part of the Signature Box, not the fruit and veggie box. I look forward to preparing meals, and enjoying it all.
Since we are eating less meat these days, this should last us awhile longer that what they say. I will be getting out some cookbooks for recipes, happily anticipating the good eating we will enjoy.
Angel Food Ministries was started to help families who were struggling with the economy many, years ago. Every month a different list of items is in the Signature Box, and I'm sure the fruits and veggies would be different also, depending on the season. Since they buy in quantity, the price to the consumer is about half of what it would cost at grocery stores around the nation. You can go to Angel Food Ministries website to check them out yourself. You or someone you know could possibly be helped out in this way.

Wow Rainey! That's a lot of food! You guys will be eating good for some time! Really like the fruit and vegetable box. We're like you and don't eat that much meat. There's more meat there then we eat in months. I like how it's packaged so you can freeze it easily

I'm so glad you tried it! It all looks so good and there is a lot.
Your music is so nice to hear this morning

I don't think we have the Angel's Food Ministry around here. I know my sister and her Minister DH are working on food boxes for folks in need.
This is a great idea.
we have that here, and several of our friends get it, and sometimes my niece. i think we'll try it for ourselves. we get the menu/order form sometimes, from somewhere i'm not sure of. maybe one of my friends? lol i know there's a lot, because one friend always send over potatoes and onions, she says they give her too much, and she knows our grandson will eat baked potatoes if nothing else....he's on adhd medication, and is wasting away to nothing, poor baby.

Wow, what a lot of good eating. It is nice to have it all there and you don't have to walk around, up and down the aisles picking up one at a time. Enjoy, and we may be down for supper.
It looks like you got some good food to enjoy. Have fun with your cookbooks! I have lots of them, and look forward to getting more organized so I get them used. I used to plan a week or more meals at a time, but don't seem to get around to it lately.
Wow! You have such a lovely blog here! Very friendly and delightful to see your pictures!
I've been wanting to sign up for the Angel ministry food. Just kept putting it off. It is supposed to be a very good way to economize.
I'm so glad I read this post, I looked at the site and I think I may give it a try. Money has been tight for us lately just like everyone else. I think I'll spread the word, hopefully it can help other people too. Right now we buy in bulk at Sam's and I package everything up and freeze it, but I think this would be great for us. I've been wondering, where do you live? I'm in Sarasota... I have a feeling you can't be all that far away from me. Anyway, thanks again... and I hope you are enjoying everything!
