Thank you all for the thank you msgs. to DH for doing his time of duty for our country. They are appreciated by both of us.
This morning before I left for work, I had set the table, and then printed up a menu. I saw after I printed it out that I had left out the 'r' in margaritas. But didn't even seen the bigger boo boo.
DH came in from working outside, before I left and saw the table setting. As I was getting ready, he asked, "Is it Valentine's Day?" I said "No, it's Veteran's Day." I looked at the menu and couldn't believe what I saw. I had written Valeninetine's Day, instead of Veteran's Day, and didn't even catch my mistake. I was bummed out, because, ya' know, we want it to be perfect when we do something for others. DH said it was no big deal, and I told him that this was all being done with lots of love, even though it wasn't Valentine's Day.
Tonight as we finished dinner he said, "That was really good." I thanked him and said "Yea, even if it isn't Valentine's Day." We both laughed. He said when he saw that menu this morning, he freaked wondering if he had forgotten it was Valentine's Day. Then he thought, wait a minute isn't Valentine's day in February? He was greatly relieved when I told him it was Veteran's Day. We had a good laugh over this after our lovely, quiet dinner together. Being in our 60's after 40+ years together can be a hoot.
Every day is a gift!
What we choose to do with each one,
is up to us.
We can celebrate life,
or we can look at all the negatives.
May we be ever thankful for our many blessings, small or large.

And in the end,
it's not the years in your life that count.
It's the life in your years.
