Hello Folks ~ Now that spring is starting to happen for most of you, I have a final garden book review give-away today. Spring down here in s.e. FL was a whisper of a season and summer heat and humidity are moving in.
The book I’m reviewing is “Big Ideas for Small Spaces ~ Creative Ideas & 30 Projects for Balconies, Roof Gardens, windowsills and Terraces” by Kay Maguire & Tony Woods.
This book is for every type of gardener from inexperienced to someone who has been gardening a long time. It is also for small patio garden spaces.
Myself, I have small garden areas around my little cottage and in this book there are some great ideas for containers, lighting, design tricks, water features, mirrors, planters, seating and storage.
There are 30 great little projects just about any of us could accomplish. Gardeners are inventive and productive people and this book will definitely inspire you to get out some simple tools and get to work.
One of my favorite projects from this book is a wooden mobile garden planter on heavy duty wheels to be able to move where you want it. Another is a raised bed/bench that has a grass top for sitting on.
There are also some gardening tips for planting, watering, etc.
It is a book I think any gardener would be inspired by. The photography is great, and the instructions are easy to understand.
Here is a quote from the book,
“Even the smallest space
can become
a beautiful floral garden.”
If you wish to be in the drawing, just leave a comment below saying so. The drawing will end Sunday EST at midnight, 7th of May.
I received this book from 'Firefly Books' in exchange for an honest review of this book.

I absolutely adore books on small space gardening! I guess it goes back to my postage stamp sized yard I had when I lived in NYC....or the container garden I had on my deck when I first moved up to the mountain and was renting for a while. Whoever wins that book will be lucky!!
Hi Lorraine, I'm interested in the giveaway. Can ever have too many books on gardening, especially for small spaces. I'd be particularly interested in water features. Happy Gardening, Sally
This sounds like an excellent book. I have been looking for some new and creative ideas to use in my flower beds. I am interested in the giveaway.
Happy Spring!
I sort of view every spot as a small space but all my small spaces have added up to a large jungle. It is fun to see what ideas people have that can inspire one to make something new.
I'm always interested in gardening books....and this one looks like a fine one....right up my alley.
Please through my hat in the ring.

Yes I do believe that even the smallest spaces can be a beautiful garden. We will be moving into our new place at the end of this month hopefully. Can't wait to begin gardening again. :)
A largish sized planter, with good wheels, a great idea, and specially for those who live in areas where the winter is harsh. Wheel it undercover, and all stays safe. Beautiful cover on the book, and it sounds as though all the pages are full of wonderful ideas too.

I love to garden, my yard was a challenge as a previous owner used pavers, it has been a slow process but is starting to look good. I discovered your blog and am inspired by your photos
This sounds like an excellent book, but don't enter me as I am working on decluttering and giving things away. I recently gave a young friend a stack of some of my gardening books.
Looks like a lovely book! I just recently found your blog, which is lovely, too!
I wanted you to know that I passed on the book on Roses that I won from you to a friend who has asphasia. She has difficulty reading AND finding words to express herself, but she spends hours looking at the beautiful photos in the book. I'm so glad I had to to give to her. Thanks SO much!
I'm sorry that your spring was so fleeting, Lorraine. I hope you'll be careful in the heat of summer and hydrate often. One thing I know for sure--your gardens never seem to suffer from summer as they flourish so beautifully in posts year round.
I love to garden and really love small garden spaces. However, I am in the process of closing the house out and I will let someone else have my chance to win.
I do love books like that though. xo Diana
I usually don't enter book giveaways because I just purged 3 boxfuls from my library. However, this is a gardening book for small spaces and thus is something I can't pass up. I can always share it with my gardening friends. Please enter my name in the giveaway, Lorraine. Thanks! Nancy
Your commemorative pillows below are such a lovely idea, very clever.
I hope all the little ballerinas order one from you!
That book would be great for apartment dwellers and those with tiny yards. I have too many gardens already and won't be adding any more in the future, honestly don't know how to keep up with what Ive got. I give my chance to another reader.
It sounds like a truly wonderful book, Rainey :)
Happy Gardening, my friend!

This looks like a fantastic book that I would indeed love to read! Please include me in the giveaway. Thank you!
It's still very much spring here in northern IL...we finally have some sun again for a few days, but temps only in the 50's.
Looks like that books has some great ideas! Thanks for the review. Have a great weekend.
Well, darn, I missed it! That's alright - someone else who is a more avid flower gardener will enjoy it better. Looks like a good book!
