Hi Folks ~ Hope you are enjoying the start of this new week. I am feeling so motivated after what happened here on Saturday. I have been blessed. My 'widow's fog' is drifting away. It is something you can't help, it envelops you after you lose your husband, until in time it starts to dissipate. God has been my strength and will be so until my time on this earth is over. He has given me a lovely church family and I am thankful. I can't love Mark in person anymore, but I can love so many others.
Plum Cottage is 'plummy' once again and I LOVE it. It makes me feel happy, creative, & thankful.
Sat. I had one bloom open from my fantastic 'Hugs-n-kisses' hibiscus. The first photo is at the start of the day, the second later in the afternoon. I saw this plant at HD soon after Mark left this planet and the colors drew me to it, then when I saw the name of the plant, that did it. The thing 'jumped' into my cart, with a little help from me. :-)
'Granada' was a huge hit, right where everyone could see it and almost at nose level for sniffing, and let me tell you people did plenty of that, some even going back for seconds and thirds. :-)
I've gone through the photos from Sat. and it may end up being a couple of posts. Seeing them just made me love my 'helpers' all the more.
Until then, here's the 'scullery' wall, east side, which is seen from the driveway. I'll show before, during and after pics.
I need to move the birdcage a little to the left to center it in the space and I think I'm going to paint it that aqua color also. It will really look tropical then. I want to paint the aluminum piece too. The droopy fern on the white stand will perk up, it needed a good drink of water, as it had been neglected lately.
Well, that's it for now. More to come later.
Thank you all so much for your comments, they mean a lot to me.

It's certainly looking cheerful, Rainey. And that hibiscus in the first picture sure coordinates well with the new house color. Glad you are happy!

Hi Lorraine, Plum Cottage looks awesome with the new coat of paint! I am so happy you have help from your "church family" with the paint job.

I just love that shade of purple! It looks so calming and beautiful! Goes well with all of your greenery!!! Awesome job!
Glory to God for all the love He sends our way, sometime in the form of flowers! Your flowers and colorful freshly-painted walls and your warm spirit are what I imagine as the reasons Florida is a good place to live.
What is the pink and white flower in the top picture? It is my favorite!
Oh how lovely! Look at that beautiful plum color. I love it! Hugs, Kit

Can't help but think how the progression in those last three photos kind of "captures" the changes in your life these last years since your husband died! I'm so thankful you've found your place in a new "family". In a time when so many people are critical of the church, I am ecstatic to hear this positive report. Plum Cottage looks amazing!
I'm glad you are starting to feel better and the fog is starting to clear. I can only imagine. I'm in love with that hibiscus, what amazing colors! I also have to say that I've never been a fan of purple houses, but I've never seen one in the color you've done. I love it! If one is going to paint their house purple, that is THE shade to do it in!
Have a great day FlowerLady! :-)
I love the color--deep and vivid, like you and you and your husband's love for each other.
WOW is this ever beautifully done. I love the color and the way you have displayed all your pretties around. Just a darling cottage look.
Your flowers are beautiful too.
Have a nice evening. xo
The color looks great--so fresh and vibrant. It really complements the green of the ferns and other plants.
