Beaded heart finished

Good afternoon Folks ~ I hope you are all doing well, enjoying your lives.

Yesterday and today were beautiful here in s.e. FL. Early Tuesday morning was nasty. Living in this tiny wooden cottage, with metal awnings on windows, makes it all seem worse.

Photo below from AccuWeather of a tornado in the Miami-Dade area probably Tues. morning, as that's when we had another tornado warning here. We 'never' used to have these, just thunderstorms.  There were two, with winds from 86-110 mph.

I grabbed my Bible and headed into the bathroom when the winds and rains got really bad, heart pounding and opened to Psalms. I skipped around in Psalms, then came to chapter 32 and started reading. When I got to verse7 I saw my note in the sidebar, and I had read this verse a month ago to the day with the last tornado warning that freaked me out. Not a coincidence

 Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

Right now it is 74 and tonight it is to get down to 63. Nice weather.

Yesterday I went to GoodWill and Salvation Army thrift stores as it was sr. citizen's day. I got 3 pr. of pants and 2 shirts at GW for just under $15. Yay!  Then at SA I bought two panels of lovely fabric to use in my crafting, and a small lamp shade for the bedroom, right around $7.

Below is the fabric. It's been washed and hung out to dry, ready for me to do something with.

Today I took three black and creamy white cameos and glued them to background material to bead on. Found three mini frames in my stash, that DH had made for me.   I look forward to getting started beading on these.

The pink cameo lady beaded heart is finished and before I put it my Etsy shop, I thought I would show it here to see if anyone is interested and would like to buy it, it will be less expensive without the fees. If I don't hear from anyone by Sunday the 21st, it will then go into my Etsy shop on Monday the 22nd. My email addy is in my profile. If someone buys it through here, I will come back in to edit post and mark it sold. For U.S. mainland residents only.

I enjoyed making this even though it took many sittings and hours.
The size is 4 1/2 inches x 4 1/2 inches x about 1 1/4 inches thick. There are seed and bugle beads, antique rhinestones, potato shaped and round shaped fresh water pearls, some mahogany obsidian stars, a mother-of-pearl button and two silvered charms, oh yes and the pink Lucite lady cameo.

SOLD

The price includes shipping and handling, priority mail USPS, $115.

OK, my stomach is telling me it is time for supper, so I'll head on into the kitchen.

Have a nice weekend wherever you are. If you are under the weather, be well. Stay warm and be safe those with winter weather.
Let's all be thankful for our many blessings.

Oh, my! What a scary experience - again! (I make notes like that in my Bible, too. They serve to remind me of God's faithfulness to me PERSONALLY in the past, etc.)

The frames seem perfect for those cameo pieces...

And that beautiful beaded heart is worth every penny - and more - for the hours you put in to creating such beauty. ♥

I can testify that the embroidery and beading work on your hearts are beautiful and perfect! I love your choices with all the different colors and materials in this one. You totally outdid yourself, Rainey, my dear!

That heart is a beauty! I hope your nice weather continues for a while. I can remember summers when we had thunder storms almost every afternoon in Florida...without tornado warnings.

I know how scary those tornado warnings are and I have had to hid the in the closet many times. Glad you are having some nice weather now. Sounds like a great time thrifting and your found some wonderful finds. The fabric is beautiful. Love the lovely framed cameos and your newest beaded heart work is stunning. So much work went into this and it shows.
Have a nice weekend. Blessings xo

I've always said that you are an artist. What a beauty!

How scarey to have tornadoes and not have a cellar. My sister told me once that wherever you dig a hole in Florida, it fills with water. Bummer. Do take care. You have your own B&B. Bathroom and Bible. Hugs xoxoxo

Dear Lorraine, I was delighted to see that the beaded heart you have been working on has been completed, and oh my it is gorgeous! So many beautiful details you have graced that heart with.
That is quite the story weather you are having. You are the wise one to hide yourself in the bathroom with God's Word. That is a tremendous verse of promise for comfort in such a time as that. God will be faithful to us every time we seek Him out. :-)
It was good to visit with you, dear Lorraine, and see your loveliness.
Have a most beautiful and blessed day.
Much love~~ Debbie

Oh I nearly forgot~ Please watch for an e-mail from me. :-)

Bad storms sure are scary! Especially when you're living alone. Those cameos are beautiful, as well as your beaded work.

So sorry about the tornado warning - I think you are right that we never used to get these and even the severe thunderstorms and lightening were scary enough without tornadoes. The cameo beaded heart is absolutely beautiful and you can see how much love and care has gone into it. Your work is so inspiring! Enjoy our more settled weather. Looks like it is going to be lovely well into next week.

When Hubby and I move it is on our list to not move to a state that has tornados or hurricanes. I would be just like you. Your hearts are so pretty and you are so talented. I could never make anything like that.

Oh that heart is gorgeous! I see it has sold -- someone has themselves a real treasure!
Glad you had your Bible in there with you as you were waiting out the storm -- so many precious promises to hold close when we are frightened. Blessings to you, Deborah

Glad you were safe and sound, I lived in the midwest for a couple of years and hated tornado watches. The sirens would go off and we would go out on the porch and just look, that in itself sounds a little crazy now, but we were young. Your bead work on your heart is beautiful, lovely work.

Incredible work Lorraine!!! Absolutely stunning!

One of the tornado's was actually up by us in Pompano Beach...boy was that scary, it did alot of damage and luckily all the horses at Pompano Park were ok. In all of my 45 years living in Miami and Broward, we never had tornado's, so crazy! Glad you stayed safe!

Happy Gardening and best wishes,
Sheri B.

I'm in awe of how God took you to that verse in Psalms and that it was the same verse you read exactly a month before in the same situation. Coincidence? I think not! Your pink cameo beaded heart is stunning; no wonder it's sold. It'll be fun to see what you do with the framed cameos. Love the fabric you found. Very pretty. Hugs, Nancy

What beautiful art you created ,so pretty. We've had an easily winter in IL this year. Very little snow, but we did have some high winds when I was in TN and did some damage. I did met Sandra from Thistle Cove Farm and she seemed nice. Have a blessed day and copied the Psalms verse which is fo comforting and soothing.

Your beaded hearts are beautiful. So glad you stayed safe during the storm. Tornadoes are unnerving. Been there, done there. Interesting the scripture you found while waiting for the storm to pass. Seems maybe God was sending you a message. Hope your week is going well. Have a good one.

We have those tornado watches and thunderstorm warnings RIGHT NOW! The wind outside is something else. Your beaded heart is so lovely. I know that is time-consuming. Today I finished my very favorite weaving project so far :) Take care down there!

Your heart is beautiful and I am sure the buyer will treasure it. The Psalms are a good place to go for words of protection.

That's a beautiful heart you made. The buyer will sure cherish it as I know I would. Stay safe. I know the weather can be a bit scary when so unsettled. Tennessee didn't used to be tornado alley but alas, our weather has changed here and we get a good amount of tornadoes here so I know how you feel.
