Rain bringing another cold front

Hi Friends ~ Here it is another Friday and today here in s.e. FL it is a WET one. The wind is blowing too, and this weather ushers in another cold front.  Tomorrow night it is supposed to get down to 41 and feel like it's 35.  I'm planning to put my orchids in a sheltered place.  Everything else will just have to hack it. :-)  The green is rain and the yellow and orange are thunderstorm activity, which I'm hoping we won't get, but it looks like it is headed our way here.

At least we aren't getting all of that blue but the pink is worse as it means severe.  I pray that all of you in those areas will be safe.

Last evening my ride to and from the prayer group I go to told me we were getting the 'cold' weather this weekend. I told him my heater is in the attic, this was on the way.  When we got to my house afterwards he asked if I wanted him to get the heater out of the attic and I said yes and thanked him. He couldn't believe the heater. We found it curbside years and years ago and it works fantastically. It's a Radiant Heat panel. Quiet, no fumes, no noise, saves on heating bill. Makes it very comfortable in Plum Cottage that's for sure.

Thursday I took some more Christmas money and went to JoAnn's for a paper cutter by Fiskar.  It had very good reviews and it was on sale too. I needed one and look forward to using it.  It's not sitting all the way flat as I've got it partly hanging off my sewing table.

While I was at JoAnn's I bought more felt and also some beads that were on sale. I love beads and creating with them. Some I've been gifted from friends years ago when I first started to bead, then I started buying. Have you ever walked into a bead store.  I can't afford the more expensive items, but I love looking and buy what I can.  Freshwater pearls are some of my favorite natural beads.  Favorite size bead to work with are the 11/0's and 15/0's too. Glass rather than plastic.

Here are the new beads I got yesterday.

Here are some of my stash of beads. This is looking out the window onto the wet patio area. I turned the boxes of beads on end to show them off better in the photos.
Click on photos for larger views.

Flowers out the window.

Back to beads.

I'm almost done beading the pink lady cameo heart. I've been keeping track of my time with an online stopwatch and writing it down.

Here's the next one I've started. I can hardly wait to see how it turns out. I just wing it and go with the flow. The blue heart will be placed better on the light gray one.  It's not attached yet.

Well, there was some color, inside and a little from the outside on this wet, gray day.

I hope you all are staying warm and cozy inside here in the US. For the rest of you around the world I pray you all are doing well, wherever you are.

Glad you got your heater down Rainey! We are finally getting warmer weather here after a week of temperatures in the teens. Seems like we are the only ones not getting bad weather! Of course, I don't think of getting a foot of snow as bad! Ha! Your beaded hearts are just lovely. Congratulations on the sale! Stay warm!

I looked up the storm progress on " Weather-Man-Google" and it looks as though it might venture south. So glad your heater is down and working, lovely beads, a paper cutter of magnificent proportions, I have one, that takes an A4 page. with a guillotine handle rather than a roller blade. Yours looks wonderful. Stay safe and warm. Hugs from a very warm NZ.

Oh, that IS an interesting heater! Glad you have it down and ready - hope you don't have to use it much!

That first heart you showed is simply gorgeous. And your bead supply is art in itself!

Oh, so happy you got the heater down. I find I can't handle even the high 40 degree weather anymore without the space heater on. And if I want to take a shower, I definitely have to have the heater on, that's for sure, lol! Your bead collection is wonderful! I like to bead too, not in the gorgeous way you do, but just making necklaces and bracelets. Your heart is absolutely lovely!

Thank goodness you found someone to get your heater down. I was wondering about you with the cold weather. An angel sent your way!
You are so amazing with the beads. I love how you have them all stored. They're pretty that way too.

So wonderful that you have your heater! Your beads are so beautiful against the light of the window - almost like stained glass! Lovely hearts that you are working on. Hope it doesn't get too cold there - It is colder there in Florida than here in Washington State! What a crazy winter. Stay warm, my dear. Hugs xo Karen

What a nice group of friend you have! Glad he got the heater down for you; looks like it would be quite a job.

Hope your cold front doesn't hurt your beautiful flowers. It seems to be an up and down weather pattern for all of us.

Lorraine, you can never have too many beads. I adore beads, lace, ribbon, buttons, etc and could just sit and look at them all day.
Am I strange?

Gorgeous beads! Just seeing them in the little jars and bottles with the reflections from the window must make you happy. The way you work them into little masterpieces is stunning. Glad you are warm!

wow, what a great collection of beads and crafting supplies! And sometimes it's great to have weather that forces you to stay inside. No excuse not to craft then! So nice of your friend to get the heater down. Must be nice and toasty. I'm sitting in front of our fire right now, as I do every evening :)

Loved seeing all your beads. I can see how they inspire you to create. Glad you were able to get your heater down. You'll be more comfortable on these chilly nights. We're expecting 31 here tonight and I'm hoping it will stay slightly above that. Stay warm.

It´s good to have the heater down, just in case....don´t hope for you it will be too cold, also your poor orchids outside don´t like that. So beautiful the colours of your wonderful tropical flowers outside and your colourful beads inside. It´s a joy to see how you have stored them and the hearts you are working on are so lovely.

Rainey, the cameo is simply stunning. I can only imagine how many hours it's taken you thus far. Fun to see all the beads and supplies, and as mentioned above I'm sure they give lots of inspiration. Stay warm (great heater!) and dry. Hugs, Nancy

The pink cameo heart is stunning. I bet it's taken a lot of time to do all that intricate bead work. The blue and gray heart is really pretty too. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

It definitely has been very cold hasn't it and that storm that went through was a really nasty one. Glad you are able to stay warm with that nifty heater. Your bead collection is just lovely and that gorgeous cameo is just perfect. You are so talented!

First of all, I hope you're alright - the reports of the storms and severe weather that have hit the east coast of the USA are awful.
The pictures of your bead collection are beautiful - they look like bright jewels, with the light shining through. No wonder you like to work with them so much.
I love the quotations you've included at the end of your post - they're just delightful, and all so true.
Take care Lorraine, and stay warm and safe!

Hi Lorraine, that's a lot of beads that if i will be the one to use will last me 3 lifetimes to finish, hahaha! I can't imagine the hours spent on doing all those. I have some share of natural gemstones to make into bracelets and necklace, but after sometime i already lost enthusiasm and they are just there occupying space. But i love stones more than beads though.

Goodness, that's a lot of beads, FL!!! And you do such beautiful things with them. I can't talk ... you should see my yarn stash!! :)

We also had cold, wet, bone-chilling weather over the weekend. Saturday was especially awful, and I stayed inside. Now it is better. I hope all your pretty plants survived fine.

People don't realize how "cold" FL is when the temp drops--it is so damp that it feels even colder.
Your beads and projects are just gorgeous!!! Happy beading- xo Diana

That's some cold weather for Florida! Is that old heater safe? Your bead work is so pretty...love it.

I'd say your flow is fantastic; your hearts are beautiful! Can you believe the things people toss? That heater is so welcome and glad it warms up your chilly house, Rainey.
It's been cold here, double digits below zero wind chill but today it's supposed to be mid 50's! After these last 2 weeks, a very welcome change.
Be safe...1 Thess 4:11 comes to mind when I see your lovely work.
