No more Windows Live Writer!!! :-(

Well, the end of a great little program has happened, and I am bummed. It was so nice to be able to write up a post off line, and when one had it just right they could post it. There's an Open Source Live Writer that just took LW's place, but I've heard it has bugs and glitches, so I'm not sure about downloading the program just yet.

For now I'll try writing here on Blogger again. Will see how this goes as I've been reading about people having problems with it and posting pictures too. So far, good. I know how to do a little HTML code, thanks to DH.

Good news, I got the title to van transferred into my name. Yay! Not without a little hick-up but all's well that end's well.

I won two blog giveaways. One the day before the anniversary of my DH's going to his heavenly home, and one the day after. :-)

The first one was from Lemon Verbena Lady. You can visit her very interesting and informative blog here.

She sent 5 jars of her homemade jellies, and one of her raspberry jam. Jellies are made with herbs from her gardens. Pineapple Sage, Savory Grapefruit, Lemon Basil, Tarragon Wine and Rose Geranium. Along with those she sent 3 scented candles, some dried stevia leaves, some chamomile (from her gardens)tea bags, a box of 100 tea sachets, a lovely flour sack dish towel, 3 nice garden markers, two note pads, some note cards, and 5 antique little herbal books chock full of great info. I've had her jellies before and they are wonderful. She sent me a pkg. of them after my husband went to heaven.

Thank you Nancy.

The second give away was from Cindy and you can visit her sweet blog here. Two lovely dish towels, which I think I'll make into pillows for the Christmas holidays, next year. :-) I love the sweet little frame and plan to put a faith verse or saying in it and keep it out all year.

Thank you Cindy.

I just got notification from Etsy that I had a sale. Yippee!
I had one a week ago too. :-)

That's it for now.

Have safe, peaceful and happy Christmas holidays ~ FlowerLady

I can see already you are deciding which verse to put into that beautiful frame. Goodies galore, a treat you so deserve. Sometimes really true friends know what to send at the right time. Etsy sales, well done.

How exciting (your "wins")!
I've had no trouble doing my posts on blogger. Hope it's hassle-free for you, too.
Glad you got the transfer of your van completed. What a good feeling to get some of those less-thrilling but necessary chores completed! (I have a few of them sitting around myself.)

You seem to have a lot of luck wit those giveaways Rainey. Congratulations! Well, you're much more advanced than I am with your computer skills. Didn't even know such a program existed. Congratulations on the sale!

Is Windows LiveWriter a program on your computer or a web service? If it's on your computer, can't you continue to use it, even though it's not going to update or be supported? You will do okay with the Blogger editor. It's all I use, and it's only rarely that I have an issue with it. The problem that I had with photos last week was probably caused by some sort of cookie conflict. (and I have never edited the HTML on posts. You probably won't have to either.)

What lovely wins! and to a deserving person.

I hate it when things change. I use Open Office, a free software, that I type on and then copy and paste so I don't loose anything but I do it from the computer so don't know if it would help you or not. I also use their spreadsheet.

Happy Holidays!

it must have been fun to open those wonderful packages. Good for you!

I write my post as a Word document, organise the photos in a folder using the camera's software. When words and pictures are ready I use Blogger's editor (and a little HTML when I must)
Works fine, except the off days when there are glitches. Can't remember the last time.

Good for you, winning all that fun stuff! I love getting packages in the mail.
I've only used Blogger, and I write and put up photos as I go. BUT, I'm neither a writer, nor a photographer...I'm only a gardener. I just hope no one judges me on the first two.
Enjoy the season!

Dear Lorraine, how wonderful that you won two giveaways in a row! The homemade jam that the first lady is making sounds very interesting and delicious. I wish I had more time to try out stuff like this myself.
Wishing you a lovely 4th Advent week!

Bless your heart, Lorraine, such a sweet giveaway, and I can't think of anyone better to have received it.
Those jams with herbs sound delicious, and that frame is quite unique. Looks like it's made from an aspen tree or maybe birch, we have lots of aspen trees in our area.
Congratulations on your etsy sale!!
You have beautiful treasures in your Shoppe.

Thank you for visiting and sharing your Christmas wishes. It's always a joy to see you.

Merry Christmas~~ Debbie

Congrats on both your winnings.. I'm on wordpress and we didn't have livewire? I post on-line and don't have a problem with it since I can save as a draft and modified till ready to go. Hope you have a easier time with writing now. I'll visit both blogs since I've never been to them before.

So happy you received the lovely gifts. I don't know much about Open Writer, I've looked into it, but that's as far as I get. Glad you were able to transfer the title to the van, too. Thinking of you always, Karen

What a wonderful gift! Lemon Verbena lady must be very talented to make those beautiful jellies and with herbs from her garden too! Congrats on both gifts and Happy Holidays to you!

YAY on the sale; hope you have many more. You're light years ahead of me, I know nothing about computer code and can barely blog.
Merry Christmas, Rainey, so glad you won some giveaways!

I have never used LW - don't even know what it is! I have always written in Blogger. You don't have to know HTML to write in it, so I don't know what you meant by that, and it's so easy to upload your pictures.

Congrats on winning the two giveaways! If I don't talk to you before Christmas, I hope you have a good one.

Congratulations on your lovely wins! I think you are really computer savy. I only know how to use Blogger the traditional way. Wishing you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2016!

I couldn't remember if I mentioned, I downloaded the Open Source Live Writer, and going well, but ran into a glitch when I tried to put in my slide show. I probably didn't hit the right button on the toolbar. I can now do it all offline, save, edit, and enter photos as easy as before. Go for it Lorraine, you will find it a breeze.
