Happy Christmas Eve ~ I hope all of you are enjoying some of the final preparations for tomorrow's celebration. I hope you have a restful night tonight and a peace, joy and love filled day tomorrow, whether you are with friends and family, or even alone. I spent the last three Christmases alone, adjusting to widowhood, but this year I am spending time with family and I am looking forward to that.

It is almost 1 p.m. EST, is 83 degrees and feels like it is 87. This has to be a record setter for Christmas weather. It isn't. I just looked and it was 85 last year on this day, and in 1941 it was 88. The a.c. is keeping it nice and cool in here and feels good.

I did cookie baking yesterday and today. Would have made more but ran out of a.p. flour and didn't feel like going out into the madness that is out there to get more.

Below are pics of nativity and heavenly host. In my header you can see the main little Nativity figures, Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the three wisemen and a cow and a donkey. We bought them in the little town square of Rota, Spain, the town where DH was stationed in the US Navy. These are made of mud, and can still be bought today, all sorts of figures, not just the Navitity figures.

DH made the creche probably 40 years ago and I love setting it up every year. I need to get some garland to wrap around the light wires.

That's it for now.

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful 2016.

Let the Light of Love from God shine in your heart,
filling you with love, peace & joy.

I love your simple nativity figures and that they were made in the traditional way with mud, and that you bought them in Spain. The woolly sheep are cute too. Merry Christmas.

You have such wonderful things. I really like the manger and all that it represents. I am sure it will always bring back good memories. I am glad you will be with some family. Our neighbors moved to Florida but kept their home next door. They are home these few weeks to be with family before they go back to the home in the south. The two days of snow will make them happy to get out of here. Merry Christmas to you and may your New Year be happy and great.

Beautiful, every one, Special memories with so many of them, my favourites, the sheep, and the glitter trees with a star at the top. Have a peaceful blessed day with family, wishes for good health, the strength to manage all at Plum Cottage. the inner strength as you do it by yourself, and most of all, that we continue, with many others, to have our friendships in blogland carry on and give us that wonderful fellowship across the oceans. Hugs and more.

Merry Christmas to you, Lorraine!! I am happy to hear that you are going to be celebrating with family tomorrow. There is certainly nothing wrong with celebrating alone...and sometimes that is the right thing to do. But there is also something strengthening about fellowship, so I am glad that you are able to share your day tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by Thinking About Home. You always leave such kind, sweet words! Hugs...

Dear Lorraine, how wonderful that you are spending time with your family this Christmas.
I love the photo with the two dark red poinsettias and the beautiful painting in the background. And I love your white sheep. I think they are just too cute.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year 2016!
Warm regards,

It was wonderful viewing YOUR nativity sets. None of mine got unpacked this year! I'm glad you got to spend time with family & friends. Our Christmas was very low key and strange - but quite satisfying. We'll gather with some extended family Monday & Tuesday. I'll probably check in before 2016 arrives, but if not, Happy New Year to you ♥

I think what I've enjoyed most in Blogland this Christmas is all the nativities and the stories behind them that have been shared. I love your story and how your late husband made the creche. That's so special. It's something that lives on and on, each year. So many lovely heavenly hosts, and the little sheep and trees are so sweet. I love the mirror! That frame is stunning, Rainey. I'm glad you spent Christmas with family this year. I hope it was a joyful time for you. So glad we connected this year. Looking forward to more of our "visits" in 2016. Hugs, Nancy

Hi Lorraine, Your nativity is beautiful and all the more special because of its rich history. I hope you had a warm and wonderful time with your family this Christmas. As for the weather, I imagine January is going to usher in a rather grumpy old man winter, probably with a vengeance. :) Love to you.
