Hi Folks ~ Hope your weekend is going well so far. I finished another beaded heart pin, which I am giving to a long-time friend. We met 27 years ago when we had antique shops with our husbands. Life has brought us both changes, but God has been and is seeing us through them.
Thank you all for your kinds comments on my last post. My faith in God is in tact, has been, it’s just that I am a worrier, anxious about things and always have been, but more so since losing my dear husband. I have been drawn closer to God these past 33 1/2 months, I just need to relax and give him all of my burdens big or small. Nothing is too hard for him. We don’t always get what we want in this life, and things don’t always work out like we think they should, but we can know this, God is taking care of things for our good and his honor and glory. We will understand it all one day.
As to my orchids, none of them are inside, I don’t have a single plant growing indoors. My orchids grow will-nilly in the gardens, in the trees, hanging here and there and they seem content. They are mostly in the shade or semi shade. When we do have temps around freezing, which is hardly ever, I try to put them in a protected space.
The little kitten is still around, and of course, you all know why, it has a ‘sucked’ FlowerLady into putting out food. It is a tiny thing, and meows when I talk to it, and it is hidden from view. One of my blogging commenters, Suzie of ‘Persimmon Moon Cottage’, suggested the name ‘Rosebud’ after the poem I had quoted about a kitten. Well, I thought that a great idea or a variation on the theme, so have already started calling it ‘Rosey Posey’ if it is a girl, and if it’s a boy he will be ‘Rose Buddy’. It will know it’s name. When it is big enough, and if I decide to keep it, I’ll have to take it to get fixed, hopefully it will be my sweet little friend by then. Our four other girls were all feral little babies on this property and we won them over. I’ll keep you posted.
Another blogging friend posted a cute ‘peanutized’ picture of herself on her blog, Beads & Birds. I went to the Peanut website here and went through the little fun process and came up with a peanutted version of myself, with what I had to choose from.
Get yourself Peanutted here.
Love, hugs & prayers for all of you,
FlowerLady

I think of you with your husband gone, and looking back on my own life, it is truly when we are at our lowest that we realize just how much God is always there for us. No 'human' relationship last for ever, but God is with us from our first step until our last. We are so incredibly blessed and loved. Love you too Flowerlady. <3
my daughter has the strong faith that you have. I have seen what a difference being able to place her faith in the Lord has meant in her life.
Love your Peanuts character. You just don't know if you should choose what you would wear if you were a Peanuts...what you DO wear, or mix the two like I did. I wanted pink hair last October in support of my neice who was struggling through Breast Cancer treatment but my bottle created blond locks would just not accept it...my Peanuts character took the color well, lol.
xx, Carol
That pin is GORGEOUS!!!!!
Lorraine, the pin is stunning. Really, really beautiful. You're creativity shines in so many areas. I think the kitty is a sweet surprise in your life right now. A reminder of God's love for you. Grief is messy business and I believe the loss of a spouse is especially hard for a person because of the intimacy of that relationship. We don't just lose a husband, we lose our best friend, our cheerleader, our confidante, and of course our lover. The one who knows us better than any other being on earth. Only God can fill the void created by that loss. He promises to be a husband to the widow. And He is. You are such a dear, dear woman. His strength is made perfect in your weakness, as it is in all those who love and follow Him. Hugs, dear one. ~ Nancy
I love your kitten name ideas. The new pin is beautiful!
Your newest pin is very elegant, just beautiful. Lucky friend! Lucky kitten too, from what I'm reading, but who can resist a small kitten in need? I'm sure you'll be best buds before long.
Hi Lorraine,
That pin is beautiful! I am not crafty, so I am always impressed by the things you create. I worry sometimes, too, so I am thankful my salvation does not depend on how I feel. I think God loves us so much, and forgives us, and we are much harder on ourselves than we need to be. It sounds like you are heading in a good direction with your Bible study. I hope things continue to go OK with you and the kitten.
Thanks for your comment on my WW post. I hope the neighbors like the yard. I'm thankful no one complains, anyway. Garden friends who come to see the yard always like it.
It was a blessing for me to read Nancy's comment above, and I have seen time and again how much readers, blog friends, grow to really care about each other.
I have had comments I left for you returned saying something like Failed delivery. But I'm trying again!
I might be afraid to be Peanutted! Are they very very kind when they do it?

Beautiful pin. Your friend will be so pleased. I am sure you will win over this new little kitty, too.
Well, don't you look adorable, Lorraine!
Your bead will make such a special gift for your long time friend.
I love to receive hand made gifts-so much more personal!
Lorraine, those pins are so pretty! HOw did you ever learn to do that? I am so glad the little kitty has you looking after it....I had a feeling this might happen, LOL. It needs you and came to the right place!
Such a beautiful gift for your friend!
And I'll sure look forward to following the kitten saga :)
And yes, I believe that (if it's still important to us in the light of God's Heaven) we WILL understand it all one day...
♥
Cute peanut likeness. Sounds like you continue to find beautiful things and friendly creatures find you. I've been away a bit. Busy but good. Take care.
You make such lovely hearts! I like being busy with my hands, it's meditative. I love the Rosey Posey/Buddy name - very sweet and fitting. I hope the little cutie will become more affectionate and I'm sure that will happen. Have a wonderful week Lorraine!
I love reading your posts about your daily life...what's going on in your home, how you are feeling, sharing about your faith, reading about your flowers and the kitties...I'm glad you blog and share with us. It is totally understandable how you would be extra-anxious without your husband. I would be, too! And of course your faith wobbles sometimes - you are far from alone in that. No one has 100% faith all of the time. We are only human. God understands our moods and ups and downs. {{hugs}}
You are so talented...the pin is exquisite ! I like the kitty name / names :)
Love your Peanuts pic! I did one too. Such fun! Have a great weekend. Hugs, Kit
